OT: Any baseball fans on here?

Not really. Liked the Cubs a bit as a kid. My kid wanted a Cubs hat a few years back so I became a semi fan but really only watch the playoffs.
Dodgers look unbearable right now. Should be a fun WS for you.

Grew up a Braves fan. Quit watching MLB after the 1994/95 strike. I still feel robbed not seeing what Matt Williams, Frank Thomas, and Barry Bonds were going to do by the end of that season.
And Tony Gwynn. I think he was the last best shot at a .400 hitter, that season.

I really appreciate the Astros talent....but I'm all for a Dodgers/Yanks World Series. I owe them a couple!

Yeah I grew up a Braves/Cubs fan. Went to a lot of Braves games while in school at Auburn, but basically gave up on them like I'm about to have to give up on Auburn.

Still can't believe we had to waste two aces against that shit squad just to have a chance to make the field, but I suppose that's what happens when you blow chunks all over yourself coming down the stretch...

You know it expert

I am a Dodgers fan.....just letting it be known in case you guys haven’t heard it before. Oulde fan FTR. Potentially, a little trash talking heading the boards way the next two and a half weeks.

I stand with you and loved the game tonight!!!

Yep. Best baseball season of my youth, probably, cut short by greed. Hit right at the time I was discovering the Grateful Dead, RATM, cannabis, and females. It was very easy for me to move on and not look back.
It really left a sour taste in the mouth of our generation at that time. I know almost everyone I talk to who are our age feels the same way.

I was a Cubs fan growing up because I always played for the Cubs Dixie youth team in Prattville every year. Then, Ced Landrum (from Greenville) player a year for the Cubs and then opened a BBQ restaurant in PVille. Got to know him pretty good back then. Also, my dad knew Terry Leach (Selma) of the Minnasota Twins. I think I was the only kid around that was pulling for the Twins against the Braves in the World Series. And I’ve got about a thousand Terry Leach autographs, none of which are worth a shit. But now, I don’t really follow any MLB teams but love to watch the playoffs as I can genuinely appreciate good solid baseball between two evenly matched teams. It’s just good for the soul.

94 strike also murdered baseball in Montreal... 6 games up on the Braves - on pace for 105 wins - and on a Dodgers’esque 46-18 run when the strike hit

Pedro
Wetteland
Larry Walker
Moises Alou
Marquis Grissom
plus Will Cordero, Darrin Fletcher, and Ken Hill weren’t all timers but were at least all-stars that year

then the strike... then they finished last in 95... not like I was a huge fan, or am a Braves hater - I liked the Braves back then... but those home white uni’s are one of the best in baseball history... that those uni’s are no longer around is a crime in and of itself

Used to love watching the Braves every night but now I couldn’t tell you one player on the roster. I remember those seasons when Javy Lopez hit like 50 homers and Andruw Jones did too shortly after

My all-time favorites were Ron Gant, David Justice, and Steve Bedrosian(sp?) because I couldn’t say his name and just called him “Booger.”

Sid Bream was my favorite brave and now he is the brother in law to the dime SHANNON BREAM!!

I saw something today where both pitching staffs were complaining about the WS balls being slicker than the regular season balls. Apparently it’s killing slider effectiveness.

Yeah and they've been complaining for a while that they did something with the seams.

Kershaw gets to hear it from the critics for another year, and rightfully so. And if Dave Roberts asks a pitcher to do something they’ve never done in their career or all season again, I think I’ll have him taken out for life.

Congrats to the Astros and fans. They deserve it more than the Dodgers IMO.

You giving up on your squad that easily? You rode the Butch Train last year until it completely derailed.

I don’t think they’ll win it now. I hedged after the second game when Roberts lost his mind.

To your post, I sure wish I’d never made the DJ nuts post. Caused you to lose all perspective and reality when it comes to me and my posts.

Damn Darvish getting shelled.

He had given up 3 earned runs in his 5 starts before the Game 3 blow up. Last night I think I could see him shaking on the mound. Obviously we should’ve done what it took to sign Verlander instead.
