OT Boog Mindset

What’s wrong with it? They’re just suggesting that it’s possible to make a bad hire and make things worse. Most seem to want Gus out itt. They’re just skeptical of who Auburn would hire, and I am too. I really don’t trust AU to hire a good coach

I am skeptical they will do better but for fvcks sake, it really can't be worse. Boogs beat up on OM, Miss St., Arks and OoC cupcakes. That is not success.

I don't know about the boog mindset but Gus moving away from this makes me the sad:

That dime by R.Davis and watching MW run wild makes you question everything. Really who gives a shit about JS completion percentage? Why does everyone want to be OM with no run game? Would love to live and die with the 2013 offense.

Someone please show me a better play by an Aurbun QB since 2014 than any in this vid:

John has been killing the wildcat for FAU. Went just about untouched for a 55yd TD the other night, and his family drove 20min to see it. I’ve tried to make him say something negative about Gus multiple times and he won’t do it, even after that disaster we call November of 2016

I think it could get worse with the wrong hire. We could start losing to those SEC teams more often. We're 6-0 against those SEC teams in the last two years but 5-4 in the previous three seasons under Gus. We could fall to 2015 levels pretty quickly IMO. There's a relatively thin margin for error for us.

I'm still in the boat that we need to move on from Gus. I don't think Gus can get out of his own way, and I want to take the risk to try to find someone more capable of producing more consistency and title contention. But I do recognize there is a risk associated with it.

The SEC is total trash right now. We’d have to hire a complete imbecile to fall below the likes of Ed Orgeron and anyone else in the SEC that isn’t bama/ uga. I’d like to think we’d lock someone up before firing Gus but I’d roll the dice. We’re gonna start losing more anyway when all that D talent Moose brought us dries up.

It was a glimpse in to the future watching the D give away points in the 4th qtr against Arky. I think Steele is only as good as his talent, and nobody on that staff seems able to ID and sign DBs.

Gus annoys the piss out of me, but it absolutely could be worse. We could be losing to the good teams and fighting to TE last possession every week vs the Ole Miss/MSU/Arky types. That’s completely possible.

This is not a “Keep Gus” post. I’m ready to gamble that it won’t be worse. But I’m fully aware it could be.

In that scenario, we just end up with more free time on our hands. Better than having football enduced blue balls because we can't get passed the hump.

2 things of note about this play:

1. Marshall’s explosiveness is breathtaking. He outran several 5* defenders with ease. I mean, Clinton-Dix is all “lolnope” at the gat damn 30 yard line.

2. What GRob does to that DE could be considered felony assault in many states. He completely erases the guy from the play, leaving a Red Sea-sized hole in the middle of Sabes’ defense.

You nailed Gus' mismanagement of the program in 2 sentences. He sees that a gnarly OL and cat quick QB/athlete can destroy the best defenses in CFB yet he completely fuggs up OL recruiting and starts recruiting pocket passers.

Fugg that guy.

that Marshall run against BAMA should be the single most defining play of Gus’ offensive philosophy... he had a QB run untouched for 50 yards straight through the heart of the best defense in college football... what more do you need to see?

that moment is the apex of Gus’ corching career... and he foolishly scoffed his nose at it... even if he repented and apologized and vowed to do anything to get back to that point, I’d still want him fired on principle alone... stupidity and arrogance of that nature can never be trusted and should never be tolerated

I'm just noticing that Marshall run didn't have the stupid ass HB in the game either. I mean I liked Prosch but come on with that worthless position.
Two fakes to explosive athletes NFL athletes in Ric Louis and Tre Mason to keep those bozos honest outside, and Nick keeps it in the space GRob creates inside and Ric creates with that outside man. It's so simple. We got the athletes to do it right now with Stove, KJ/Pettway, and Mallick willis, but bozo brain would rather win with a THROWER.

Yeah lets motion the fat, slow white kid with T Rex arms and run the dive instead.

gd’it, I’m getting angry at Gus again now... I thought I had reached complete indifference, but something about seeing Nick Marshall’s no limit soldier ass got me all riled up...

that dude is the most underrated player in Auburn history... he was a stone cold killer, and deserved better... should have won a ‘ship in 13, and with any amount of coaching and a few new wrinkles implemented in 14, could have won a Heisman... that 2014 BAMA game should have been his national spotlight to cement himself in history

and here’s the thing - he wasn’t a 5 star, GOAT’iest GOAT who ever GOAT’ed QB recruit either... you can find Nick Marshall’s every year if you know what you’re looking for and can corch them up... it’s not rocket science

The shot of him after the opening TD run against Bama where he's mean mugging the camera, drinking gatorade with his "STFU bracelet" on his wrist pretty much cemented him as a Top 5 all-time Auburn player for me.

This is one of the most badass Auburn images ever conceived. So much win here.

Two things:
First, that 2013 offense was ridiculous because of Greg Robinson's ability to down block. Yet we have dumbasses who don't realize how important elite OT's are.
Secondly, Jay Prosch is virtually impossible to replicate. You need a stud who can read option responsibility blocking assignments in real time. Meaning a decision has to be made about whether to block a guy on whether he can make the play. On top of that, you have to be an NFL quality run blocking full back. Because of that, you're better off to try and replicate what we see in that clip than the crap we are doing with Cox.

Shudder to think what this D will look like once Marlon, D Brown, and possibly Nick Coe all leave after next season. I'm already assuming Jeff Holland leaves after this year.
Yeah Holland and I suspect Carlton will be gone. Should still have a good D next year but after that it's gonna fall off a cliff if we don't start crootin some elite talent. Not gonna happen with Gus.

The safeties they just got could be legit. Hold on to Coynis Miller and that juco stud and I think the DL will be fine. Big Kat and baby 55 are developing into very good pass rushers. Trues dale doesn’t look garbage. And hopefully that Alaric Jackson is as good as some think he could be. The line should be just filthy next year though. I’m worried about CB recruiting the most

Champ and T-Rob delivered more quality db’s in 1 month than we signed in 7 years before them

even more reason it’s imperative we replace Gus this year and have a chance to maximize the defense next year and hopefully make up lost ground recruiting - or at least keep from falling farther behind

Yeah it took Prosch a few games to figure it out too. That's almost an art and it took game reps to figure it out. And nobody has come close to being at his level since. It would be easier to find QB's like Marshall than it would find more Jay Prosch types.
