Smart money is on the Boogs again. Boogs just have too many elite fat kids on defense.
True. But the Boog defense has been reliable and predictabley good under Kevin. I trust that they won't lay an egg. They did well with Clemson's Kelly Bryant and stifled Fitzgerald last year as well. I think the D holds MSU to 14. Can Chirp dial up 24.5 points? I think soWouldn't touch it either way. There's no way to predict what sort of idiocy Gus will come up with.

I'm thinking let down game for miss st. I'd lean more towards a Boog blowout than a this being closeYeah I probably lean Boogs. I'm thinking Miss St has enough D to make it tough on the O braintrust though.
I'm getting pretty worried that 9-3 and do this all over again is the most likely result. And a contract extension making the buyout even higher. What a time to be aliveReally need to lose this one, gang.
Heaven forbid we luck up and beat UGA. I can see the contract extension coming from a mile away. Still have serious doubts that we can win in Baton Rouge no matter how terrible they are.I'm getting pretty worried that 9-3 and do this all over again is the most likely result. my preseason prediction was 10-2 with losses to clemson and Bama, and I'm sticking to it. Kevin Steele and Boom's recruits have really screwed us. And I don't see LSU's QB being able to do anything on AU. No good QBs means AU has a chance against most unfortunatelyHeaven forbid we luck up and beat UGA. I can see the contract extension coming from a mile away. We've gone down there with the better team several times since 1999 and came out with a loss. I'll believe we can win down there when it happens.Kevin Steele and Boom's recruits have really screwed us. And I don't see LSU's QB being able to do anything on AU. Could you imagine bama in the next couple of years if Fromm had stuck with them instead of flipping to UGA (I think I got that right)?I think Georgia is gonna moterboat the boogs. They look legit and their QB will only get better. Eason will be transferring after this season.
They’re in better hands with Tua honestly. If Saban ever retires/dies I truly don’t think they’ll drop off.Could you imagine bama in the next couple of years if Fromm had stuck with them instead of flipping to UGA (I think I got that right)?
They will, but not immediately. Won't take a great coach to win a shit load of games with all the talent he will have amassed, a la Les Miles. They’re in better hands with Tua honestly. If Saban ever retires/dies I truly don’t think they’ll drop off.
It’s hard for me to see it ending just because Saban leaves. The resources will still be there for whoever takes his place (Dabo) and recruits will keep lining up to take grey shirts. They will, but not immediately. I’m a beaten down fan and football isn’t fun anymore.

They’ll hire one of the top 5 coaches in the country and he’ll have every resource he needs to do exactly what Saban has done. You are crazy. Saban is one of the greatest coaches of all time. There will be a drop off. That isn't to say it can't or won't be a good program afterwards, but there will be a drop off.
Folks said the same thing when Bear retired. They’ll hire one of the top 5 coaches in the country and he’ll have every resource he needs to do exactly what Saban has done.
I was right with the 10-2 group but I fear it could get worse. Dude if the boogs roll into the iron bowl at 10-1 on 9 game streak with impressive wins over State - LSU - aTm and a win over UGA, it could be crazy. I mean their confidence will be at an all time high and prolly ranked well in to the top 5 they could damn well get the upset. If we reach the SEC Title game, win or lose Gus will be here another 2 years minimum and a play off appearance prolly buys him a couple extra.my preseason prediction was 10-2 with losses to clemson and Bama, and I'm sticking to it. Well, just put me in the boat with the I’ll believe it when I see it people..There will be a drop off, just like there was after Bear, and many other legendary coaches.
It happens.
Eh, I'm pretty certain any extension we'd see even after a 10-2 season and another Sugar Bowl would be in years only with no change to the buyout. Some folks around AU are done with "we can't lose this guy" mentality for the football HC. Bruce on the other hand...they see him in the Big Dance and we're gonna see buyout numbers that Saban would approve of if needed.Heaven forbid we luck up and beat UGA. I can see the contract extension coming from a mile away. Still have serious doubts that we can win in Baton Rouge no matter how terrible they are.
If that goodball somehow wins 2 SEC titles in 5 seasons while we're dealing with the best dynasty in the sport in the last 30 years I'm just gonna admit that I'm a freaking clueless moron and stop complaining.I was right with the 10-2 group but I fear it could get worse. Look, I want AU to be successful, I have made that clear. But if the success buys Gus more time, outside winning the Natty, I truly don't think it's worth it. I would put my disdain for Gus aside for a Natty. But nothing less.

It's my own personal HELL, man. This is the nightmare.
It's my own personal HELL, man.
I want to see these players and AU succeed and win as much as possible, but wanting what's best for AU in the long run would not include Gus being the HC and him failing means our guys fail too. It's a bitter reality that we as AU folks who love AU find ourselves in and JarJar and Gus are the reason. And I hate both of them for putting AU and AU people in this situation... among other things. lol

COZZMO TITTTEEEEEEZ---if it makes yo azz feel any betta----DAWG PICKED MIZZOU saterday!!!!Leaning boogs, but MSU will gash us whenever Don Russell comes out for a breather. Opposing OC's have taken notice they can run on us when he isn't out there. It's the D's sole weakness.
Playing MSU isn't all about containing Fitzgerald, it's about containing their run game. Aeris Williams went for 146 on 23 against LSU, but UGA held him to 24 yards on 11 carries. UGA's front just obliterated MSU's OL and made them one-dimensional.
We should be able to do the same, but whereas UGA has Rochester and Clark to spell Thompson and Atkins, we have Drew Williams and Truesdell - yuge difference. That alone prevents the possibility we shut them down to the degree UGA did.
Antwuan Jackson, we're sorry, please come hAUme.
Boog offense vs MSU defense is where the mystery comes in. Who the hell knows. Grantham is licking his wounds after they got whipped in the trenches Saturday. The Boog OL hasn't whipped anyone in the trenches this season, and given that's unlikely to change Saturday, we'll need to be balanced and execute.
24-20 Boogs, but reserve the right to adjust closer to kickoff. I'm still licking my wounds after a terrible prediction picking MSU to upset UGA between the hedges. A woeful prediction I feel compelled to apologize for.

Grantham lost to Gus in 2013 when he was at Uga and lost again in 2015 when he was Louisville. Not sure that he's had Gus' number. I think he's overratedGrantham has had Gus's number a bit if I remember correctly. Feels like he always played him tough at least. Maybe it helps AU a bit that Chip isn't doing the same exact stuff.
Any injury updates for MSU? I can't imagine they are in great shape after the last 2 weeks. Even passive LSU is still big boys leaning on you and hitting you and UGA looked like they were playing angry as hell this weekend (helps when the gadget play you work on goes for a TD on the 1st damn play and the home fans erupt I guess).

I'm thinking any DC with a half way decent set of athletes at his disposal can give Gus problems at this point. He started some of the run blitzes that gave us massive issues in that 4th quarter in 2013. Gus had no answers. Still doesn't probably. Used them more on us later. I thought he did okay vs our offense in that UL game too. Pretty sure we were under 350 yards and had multiple turnovers. At last our 1st 2 TD's were either defensive our set up by the defense.
I also think he's overrated, but his aggression vs Gus has caused us problems IMO.
