I was the lone voice in the wilderness agreeing with Cubelic on that too. Shame that so many sheep just think blue bloods are only playoff contenders

A guy goes out on a bit of a limb to make his playoff predictions not the same as 98% of guys doing them and the reaction is to just crush him for it and never let it go. It's a freaking prediction, meant to be a fun guess before you see these teams play a single down. People take themselves and this sport way too seriously sometimes.

I used to have this reaction when pundits predicted bad things for AU that seemed absurd or good things for other SEC teams I hated that were out of the mainstream. I have to say my sports fan maturity level at that point was somewhere around 12 and I look back and cringe. The level of anger this stuff produces is baffling to me now.

I thought he was crazy. Still do. I think their front will give Clemson some problems, just like ours did but I don't think they beat Clemson. I also don't think they would have beaten FSU if Francois didn't go down. Will be interesting to see if they beat Notre Dame. NC State is a pretty good football team, but the idea that they were going to be in the playoff still seems ludicrous to me.

No doubt. It's like people just long to hear some combination of the same 7-8 teams every year for the prediction. Not unlike people getting mad about the Gameday guys picking against their team. It takes quite a bit of caring to get up in arms about stuff like that
