OT: Gordon Heyward

That goes in the top 3-4 most gruesome ones I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. Ugh

Looked gnarly but your boy Denim suffered a similar injury and was back at it in 3 months. Just pop that bad boy back in, put some screws in and the let the bone heal for 6 weeks.

Wasn’t watching and kind of refuse to watch clips of those kinds of things. Was it worse than Paul George’s leg break?

Dude's foot was turned completely perpendicular to his opposite foot. He spun around and faced the Cav's bench while holding it in the air and they all did their Smokey and Craig "Daaaaaaamn" impression (as horrible as it was, that part was quite funny).

It was pretty nasty but Paul George's being a leg break was worse IMO. This dude when sitting on the ground had one foot pointed straight and one foot pointing almost backwards. Pretty nasty.

Yeah it looked bad cause his foot was flopping around the wrong direction. Not as bad as George.

Only thing I’ve seen is dislocated ankle and broken tib. If there isn’t any nasty ligament issues I wouldn’t think it’s even a season ender.

Yep, I've seen a half dozen of these in the soccer world in the last few years. Dislocated ankle looks atrocious when it happens. But those guys often are back in 6 months or less and not looking much different than they were before. Breaking both bones halfway up the shin is much worse. Maybe the Celtics can still get a 2 or 3 seed and he can be back for the playoffs. You never know

Yes ended my very brief adult intramural soccer career. That soccer ball is dangerous gang.

Yes. There are some serious assholes in adult soccer leagues. Dudes that take the game too seriously trying to make crunching tackles on a bunch of guys that are just out there to socialize, get some exercise, and go to the bar after the match.

While this is true my particular injury was between me, the ball, my lack of foot skills and an imperfection in the turf. Resetting the ankle was pretty brutal. Other than that the rehab wasn’t that bad.

Only thing that still pisses me off is the strained ligaments totally effed up my ability to post up and hold my balance with the driver. Foot just spins out.

one of the recent college grads that refs some of our youth games wanted me to play on their adult league team. I kept finding excuses because I had seen him play at the HS level and I want no part of even practicing with him and his insane tackling. I'm too old to take those hits now. I'll kick around with the kids and teach them the game and that's enough for me. After blowing out my quad a few years back I've got zero interest in anything that might put me at a higher risk of injury.
