From Sir Rice:
Because Auburn sells itself and no player should commit to a school because of a coach...but everyone with a brain knows that...

Auburn's Football History- top 11 overall, academics, small town feel/location, history of sending players to the NFL, 3 Heismans, 2 national title appearances since 2010, etc. But you don't know what any of these things are or represent so I'm not surprised you don't get that.

Also I'd like to add that if you commit to a school JUST to play football and don't take school/your degree seriously, you're doing it wrong and will fail.

Again, because you don't commit for a coach when you have no idea if said coach will be there in the future, you commit to a school. Not surprised you don't get that...

True, and that vast majority that don't have a back up plan and don't take school seriously usually fail. Thanks for proving my point.

Didn't Calvin Ashley commit to Auburn in 2015(2 years early)? So did Prince Sammons and then Troxell last year. Since 2013 we've had Robinson and Coleman at LT, two current NFL tackles, so playing time would have been limited. You suck at this...

This post proves to me you've never attended Auburn, it's not an average college at all.
Also Auburn is historically a top 12 program in total wins.

I just did, Auburn is in the top 103 out of all institutions in the nation, that's not average in any sense of the word considering how many colleges are in the US. I see they don't teach math at the community college you attended...

LOL, you were saying...

Auburn is known for it's Engineering and Veterinary programs=$$$$. Did you really not know that? Sidewalk alert...

This chart from payscale.com says otherwise...you seriously can't tell me that an engineering firm would think of an Auburn grad and bama grad with a BE in equal grounds can you?

Well yea, but this thread is about reasons why a recruit would come to Auburn..academics is a big plus/attraction for us with kids in the SE.

This comment has nothing to do with the two posts of mine you quoted, and are you really asking why bama recruits better or is that a rhetorical question, we all know the answer. Also, FSU and Bama will not let a kid play that doesn't take academics seriously, most of those type kids are dismissed/processed.

Why did Tua sign with Alabama knowing that Kiffin wouldn't be there this year? Just one of many examples...again most good HS coaches usually tell a player to commit to a school they like not a coach, because they come and go.

AND MY PERSONAL FAV...
Again, too many of you think of these kids as just players and not as people making decisions that affect their future. It's not always as cut and dry as some believe here.

Merry Christmas to the nonsubscribers; Rice is the gift that keeps on giving...

Dee lourde... He says that he knows he is right, because:
Actually it's the mindset of other players that I knew(family friends) that have committed to both Alabama and Auburn(KJ, Reggie Ragland, Malik Miller, Kendall Randolph), and their reasons for each. My brother just helps bring it home more in a more personal way. It's not an all or nothing approach, it would be many different factors that go in to choosing a school.

I said:
So, just to be clear, you truly believe that the majority of college football players care more about the academic staff than the coaching staff? More about the schools football history than the current status of things under the current coaching staff? I agree that kids aren’t gonna go somewhere they completely hate, but I also don’t think they weigh things the same as is regular students do. I just don’t see how anyone could possibly think that a free education from UCLA and 4 years room and board in Westwood isn’t more appealing and a better investment in yore future earning potential than moving across the world to the great state of Alabama. Yes, there are some outliers, maybe yore 4 buddies fall into that category, but you have to agree that most top recruits are more focused on coaches and playing time than they are about academic rankings and how many chain pizza joints are walking distance from the dorms.

Then I also said this, which really got him going:
Also worth noting that all 4 of his examples, with which he uses paint a picture of college football in general, grew up in Madison, AL and 2 attended a private high school. Sounds like a solid representation of the average SEC football recruit.

To which Rice responded:
I know you're from Georgia, but this might be the most ignorant statement you've ever made on this board. Madison has/is a hot bed for SEC talent. Last year alone..Austin Troxell-Auburn, Monty Rice-UGA, Labryan Ray-Bama, Kendall Randolph Bama, Kyriq McDonald-Bama, AJ Harris-OM. Plus the others I mentioned above KJ, Malik Miller, Collins Moore and then of course Reggie Ragland who is now in the NFL.

And then I finished with:
Lolz. It's not an ignorant statement at all. 4 kids, that you happen to know, are not a full and accurate representation of the SEC in general. Especially 4 kids from the same place. I had a couple kids from my high school in Athens end up going to UGA. One was also offered the opportunity to play at Harvard. I don't think he's an accurate representation of how the typical UGA/SEC football player balances academics and athletics.

I wasn't condemning yore town, it clearly has some guys that are good football players. I'm glad some of them have chosen AUBURN, I wish more would. In no way does that mean that all 1400 players in the SEC are similar in character to guys like Kerryon. That was my whole point bruh.

Rice has failed to respond to my final post. I am under the assumption that his head exploded. No way he'll let me get the last word, but I shall do my best.

you got riced bruh.

The really good kids make a 'business decision'. Everyone knows that. Anytime you hear an elite prospect talk about academics you know they are BSing.
I got into it with him over the Bama qb from Hawaii too. He pulled up some one liner from a recruiting article where his mom said “Alabama is a lot like Hawaii” and then some BS about academics and facilities.

He really thought that statement proved his argument that a kid from Hawaii went to Bama because of the town and the academics and not SABAN.

I mean, she started her statement saying the state of Alabama and Hawaii were a lot alike. Why would you ever use that to help prove yore point. Lolz

Yeah I’d like to know how many of those kids stuffed rice in a locker.
He’s just making up a bunch of shit or dramatically dramatically dramatically stretching the truth. He’s never claimed to know the Troxell’s before either. Always said he knew one of his coaches, which was probably BS too

And today it wasn't about the "school," but about a relationship with a coach.
This is why I can't stand this dumb fvck. He just argues for the sake of arguing and he's not even good at it FFS.

Some bunker Guy. Can't remember who now:

Well, the main reason why Asa chose us was because Bama told him he would basically be another Kenyan Drake and get limited touches...

********************************

Corch Rice's reply:

Actually the main reason was due to Horton's relationship with his mother who started recruiting Martin and his family two years ago...this shit is getting sad now guys, come on.

*********************************

I mean the dude literally has to be the dumbest motherfvcker on any AU board out there.

It actually has to do with Jeremy Perkins and Chip Lindsey as they coached together at Hoover.

Cause that applies to that post. Let's think outside the box of Rice's comments that were quoted itt by commenting on playing time. Sounds like @Nay Nee. Nate should be itt.

Wasn't expecting you to respond about playing time in your first comment. Yes, I am the one that went outside the box in an attempt to engage in some friendly banter with you. Guess I won't try that again.

Please tell me you called him out on that. I'd love to see his spin on it
