OT: Jeremy Pruitt is disappointed...

this kind of thing is straight out of the saban playbook. Might see a lot of attrition early in his tenure as he tries to weed out some of the kids with bad attitudes.

Yeah he’s probably going to take some lumps this year playing a bunch of freshmen and sophomores, but I think he’s going to establish a tougher culture there than what they’ve experienced the last few years. He just has to walk that fine line of tough and too tough, and I feel that might be an issue for him.

I think he's going to be a lot more Derek Dooley, and a lot less Kirby Smart. I guess we'll see.

Even if he’s a better coach than Kirby, it’s going to be next to impossible for him to do what Kirby did. That team he inherited had a bunch of talent on it. I’m not sure Tennessee is the third most talented team in the East right now.

The issue for Pruitt will how be how patient the fanbase and admin will be with him. He walked into a trainwreck and needs time to build the program.

I think he needs at least his 4th season before you can or will start seeing his program at full strength (his program).

I guess I see their biggest problem as a culture of being soft and not a severe lack of talent. Maybe I’m wrong

Eh. It’s all players you would tell us were good if they were at AU. They just have a weak mindset there.

He's such a douche...living in TN i have a lot of friends that are vol fans and I pull for them most of the time because it makes my weekends better when my friends are happy, but Pruitt can eat a D!CK.

Still upset about the FSU game?

We should kick their dicks in. They're coming off a bye before us but also in JHS with Alabama on deck at home for them to be looking ahead to

Ha. I didn’t even know we played them this year. Tells you how much I’m following boog football these days...
Same here bro, it's sad that Gus has broken some of the best fans. Someone asked me yesterday how we were looking this year and I told them I just haven't gotten in gear yet. I honestly don't even know who we play first.

I just tell people, I used to be an AU fan and may give it another go after Gus runs us into the ground. I have done that since 15 and have had little blowback from the UA rednecks because it takes the fun out of it for them if they think you dgaf.

I don't see him selling "the process" the way his old boss did. His old boss also achieved success in year 2 so it didn't matter, but at least some part of preaching "the process" is simply PR to keep fans from revolting too early. You get them to buy into it so that they don't turn on you too quickly and you can be there to see the W's stack up from your labor.

Pruitt seems more likely to piss people off along the way and rub the fans the wrong way as the L's start coming in. He's not likely to win anywhere as quickly or at as high a level as Saban or Smart have done. In fact I think it's going to take him 3-4 seasons to have a chance. If he goes 7-5 or worse for 2 seasons he's on the hot seat and facing his end going into year 3 I think. Mostly because he will grate on people along the way and UT people will quickly turn on a lifelong bammer who lectures them on their culture while he's losing.

This is pretty much how I see things going as well. He's basically going to be Derek Dooley, except he'll be less popular with the fanbase. On the bright side, whoever they hire in December of 2020 will definitely be the one to pull them out of the 2+ decades of mediocrity...or not.
