Couldn’t remember if we had one of these, and I know @ThrustMaxwell loves to post about weekly tunes.

I noticed Hulu has access to Showtime a couple days back so I finally started Homeland. Finished the second episode last night and I’m really enjoying it so far. Damian Lewis has been one of the biggest badasses in my eyes since he played Dick Winters in BoB.

Also, Peaky Blinders season 4 is on Netflix, and if you aren’t watching it you’re missing out. Show just gets better every year.

didn't know the new season of Peaky Bliders was out. I guess I'll give it a whirl, but season 3 sucked ass.
I won’t say it sucked ass, but it was definitely harder to follow than the previous 2. This new season is great so far, and Adrien Brody is a pretty cool nemesis for Thomas.

Big fan of Homeland. A new season should be coming out around the beginning of February.

Been watching Game of Thrones with the wife for the last month or so. Currently on season 6. Probably will have to watch The Crown when we finish GoT until Homeland starts back.

Yeah Homeland is good. Feel like there’s been a couple decent seasons since the first but definitely missed on a few.

Season 2 and season 3 were laughably bad. Probably could’ve gotten better since “spoiler” someone is gone, but I didn’t feel like giving it more of a chance. Plus, Claire Danes crying hurts my stomach to watch

I wish I could watch GoT for the first time again. I didn’t start watching live until season 5 I believe.

I do feel like they’re going to shit all over this final season though.

First season of Homeland is one of the best seasons of TV of all time. Then it spectacularly nosedives into nonsense

I tend to believe that most of these dramatic terrorist based shows should be 1 season deals or something more like True Detective. Bring in new casts and entirely new locations if you wanted to do Homeland 2 and Homeland 3. Same for "24". As badass as Jack Bauer was, the idea of him having multiple days anything like the supposed 24 hour days he's had was just beyond absurd. And while I still watch Homeland, the idea that Carrie just keeps finding herself in these spots is such a spectacular reach that sometimes I want to unplug from it.

Season 1 of Homeland is one of the best seasons of any show ever. It did a total nose dive for a few seasons and was just a mess. I thought Season 6 was a decent reset and they could have started a new series with new characters from that mark and it would have been good stuff. While I'm hooked on characters like Saul and Carrie, I'm not sure it wouldn't be an improved show if we had a complete reset with new characters all around. Just hard sometimes to believe that these guys would still be in the positions they are in at times with what we've seen them be involved in during past seasons. At times the baggage they bring to the show makes the plots more convoluted and makes the story harder to tell or sell IMO.

Did anyone watch Rubicon? It only made it 1 season but was great. I'd love to see a reboot.

Firefly was some Joss Whedon sci-fi show. Rubicon was something on AMC I believe that aired probably 8 years ago.

I agree with jeramye that Homeland needed to adapt the same model as True detective and Fargo. But it's way too late for that to happen now.

Btw, I'm also looking forward to how bizarre the new season of House of Cards will be without Kevin Spacey. It's gonna be a trainwreck.

That last season of House of Cards was so terrible. I can’t believe they’re gonna do another.
It was outrageous. I’m kind of happy that Frank is gone. The show might be better this way. I hope they just totally ignore a bunch of stuff that involved Frank and just move forward with a new story. If they try and force Claire to deal with all of Frank’s shit, then it’s gonna be terrible

I'm not sure I can see a scenario where it gets better without Frank.

Yeah. But at least it’ll be something different. I think Claire will be a bad protagonist but it’ll be good to see some new characters with bigger roles. No more Frank and I’m going to assume very little Doug as well. I’m excited to see more of Mark Furman and Jane Davis

Everyone dies because we get nuked and the show turns into a survival show. That's a better option than any of the ones they'll take
The show started with so much promise. The author storyline was dreadful and it all just fizzled out.

In my second season of Daredevil. Solid B+.
she's so hot.

So you Stranger Things folks - what did you think of season 2?
I really enjoyed season 1, but 2 seems to be moving pretty slowly.

Just finished what was available of Game of Thrones. Enjoyed it, but it felt like the last season was rushed. And I’m not sure how I’m going to like the final season only being 6 episodes. Doesn’t seem like nearly enough time to ties things together.

This. I watched Homeland until the storyline with one of the original main characters tied up and then I was done. Watched one season of 24 and that was enough for me.

Watching the Peaky Blinders right now. Glad they killed off the character that they did. Just an absolutely nothing character that was probably the least developed in the series.

Right now, I'm not digging Adrien Brody but maybe he gets better.

Season 2 is still the best by far imo

Tom Hardy is still the best character in the series.

Adrien Brody doing his Marlon Brando impression is annoying as fugg

He was a little too Godfather-like, but I enjoyed his character more so than last season’s villains. I don’t agree about the death being a good thing. I was pissed.
