Luckily 3 time masters champ Phil has handled this display with class. It was shameful.
He put it in the hazard on 18. Pretends he's gonna hit a ricochet shot off a rock to get relief from a tent that would interfere with his follow through. A shot no one would ever try in competition with exactly zero chance of being pulled off.
Whole thing takes 20 mins. He gets the drop. Tries to extend his driver to a piece of grass but doesn't reach. Plays off a different rock bangs it over the green into another tent. I'd say it was cheating. Definitely not within the spirit of the rules.
You're obviously not familiar with this guy's shot to win the 1996 Golf Tour Championship...
But for reals, that seems to be pretty damn busch league from Sergio.
The result would have been about like when Happy got hit by a car. Would have broken his wrist on that rock. Ball was submerged in water too. Would have been amazing if Phil or the rules guy just called him out in front of the grandstand on 18. Speaking of golf any of you played East Lake? Had a chance a few years ago and had to bail due to change in travel plans. Such a downer. Hear it is a good one.
Looks pretty awesome, never played it though. Been out there a couple times for the tournament though.
