Of the JOX terrible decisions, here's how they ranked:

1) Having Finebaum for 4 hours on both JOX and JOX2
2) Having the Opening Drive from 6:00-10:00 am. Awful show
3) Having Tim Melton on the show at 6:00 pm.
4) Airing "Hey Coach" every week for the Bama staffs.

Apparently the Round Table is moving to the morning, and a new show coming mid-day. Wonder who will be in that slot. Maybe Scarbinsky?

No idea. But Kevin Scarbinsky works for some sports events planning business now, so doub he’d be involved

Some of the guys on there had normal jobs, so I thought he might as well. Probably a long shot though, so you’re probably right

I enjoy the Round Table and look forward to it replacing the Opening Drive. I initially liked the premise of the OD with a boog, bam and local radio fixture, but it got stale a long time ago and it's time to move on. I hope they find a good replacement for the lunch hour, but I wouldn't be surprised if they went with a national show.

I agree on the turribleness of the primetime show, but no one listens to radio from 6-8 pm. The best night host was Ian Fitzsimmons, but you can't keep a guy like that for long with the money available for that slot.

And, by the way, a boog runs the station. But you got to feed the turds if you want to pay the bills in the sports radio biz in Alabama.

They're going to give McElroy a show aren't they

That’s why I could never figure out why they got rid of Matt and Scott show. Wasn’t great but it was decent and something to listen to during a time slot when you won’t be able to get too many people

I don’t know if they think moving it to the morning will make it bigger but I don’t see how it could. Morning radio is tough to make ppl change. The OD was pretty terrible though. They always seemed to have decent guests surprisingly.

I was an intern on The OD back in 2008/09, and I really enjoyed working with Al and Tony. Al is a huge Boog, but he's such a nice guy that he sometimes wouldn't fight as much as we might like him to. Tony had no real reason to be on the show, and if it wasn't a morning show, he would never have been there. Jay was literally a voice box for the bama AD, as he would have talking points and rebuttals texted to him by an AD employee who listened to the show and told him what to say. He is exactly what most of us think he is.

I couldn't listen because of Jay. but I did enjoy Al's takes when I did listen.

I have a hard time listening to the Round Table. My co-worker has it on in his office and there is one guy that has a yuck yuck radio voice, like he's Wink Martindale or something.

Interesting. Their tentacles are everywhere haha.

The OD might be the worst sports radio show in the entire USA. Most of the bammers I know hate Barker more than boogs do, and they all like Al more than I do. That third leg just needs to be took out & shot. There's a horrible local radio show that I listen to over the OD. It's ran by a local old trailer hand that I know very well, & while it's horrible, it's also funnier than hell. He owns the station & has guests & takes phone calls. He calls Bernie Sanders, Bernie Sanderson & hates Hispanics all because he knows no better. He gets 4 or 5 calls a day from Spanish speaking people & it makes him furious. Just imagine the biggest redneck (and funniest) guy you know owning his on radio station X Ten. He also has an open mike policy, so ANYBODY that wants to can walk in & help "host" the show.
That got a little longer than I meant for it too. Sorry GREG
