Lets just be clear this whole squad is sexy and studly. That said I’ve been tasked with ranking them in order to this point.

1. Jared
2. Bryce
3. Mustapha
4. Desean
5. Mac
6. Chuma
7. Davion
8. Horace
9. Malik

Every single one of these guys has met or exceeded my expectations. Only thing missing so far is a thunderous slam by Davion in the face of some hapless child. And of course the reinstatement of AUSTIN and DANEL.

I’ve got Mac ahead of Desean but that’s about it. Jared has been amazing. I think I remember some bunkaboogs wanting him to transfer. I thought Davion had a chance to be the starter after conference play this year but that was really dumb of me

I agree with most of that, and I'd add that when Horace is having a good game, this team is almost unstoppable. He's the straw that stirs the drink IMO.

Yeah some of the hate directed at Jared was ridiculous. Those people were stupid then and look even dumber now. He’s been insanely good.

I thought Davion would be a more explosive rim attacker but he’s been good. Just quietly runs the O and plays great D.

Once Davion gets a bit more confidence I think you’ll start seeing him use his handle and athleticism to blow by some defenders. Right now he seems happy to be more of a facilitator though. Kid has crazy ball skills and athleticism. Ready to see him cross some kid over and then throw one down

Btw, did anyone else notice that Davion had his shorts on backwards the whole game? I wonder if it was accidental, or some kind of superstition thing.

can’t argue with the ranking... part of me wants to move Mustapha down to 5, but that’s foolishness... he hasn’t exceeded expectations like the others have, but he’s solid as a rock

on Young Davion, I’m surprised by how hesitant he is to shoot at the rim... he can get into the lane anytime he wants, but he hasn’t finished well, but more importantly has stopped trying unless he has an easy look... I’d like to see him drive it into guys chests and make them defend because I think he’s strong enough to bounce off or finish through contact or at least get to the line... but that’s a small quibble... something I will definitely be watching going forward

I know we’ve discussed it in the game threads - but a special shout out to the work Jared is doing in the middle of that 1-3-1 zone... it’s beautiful to watch - especially with Davion or Bryce engaged at the top... we’re swarming the wings and gang rebounding

Will be really interesting to see what the lineup looks like next year if Staph leaves like everyone thinks he will. I'm sure Samir Doughty is a stud but I don't think he's a perfect like for like replacement for Heron.

Jared, Bryce, Davion, and Doughty will be one of the best backcourts in the league, but I'm curious how you fit those guys on the court together.

Im envisioning a more athletic, less offensively skilled Staph. Better defender. He’s got kind of that Bryce physique but at 6’4 hopefully can play the 3. Of course I’ve really only seen pictures and a couple practice reports.

Most people doubted Sweet Jared but he is a stud. He's the smartest guy on the court and really worked hard on perfecting his game in the offseason. He will be one of the best players to ever play at Auburn by the time he's done. I loved Davion in an interview saying Jared is the best point guard in the SEC. I have to give credit to Desean as well. I knew he would be a banger and good defensively but I didnt know he would be as great rebounding and scoring as he has been. I can't imagine where we would be without him. The only guy I've been disappointed with so far is Mustapha. He takes too many bad shots and is probably our worst defender. I'm hoping for him to look more unselfish in SEC play.
