*****Season Long Heisman Watch Thread*****

My money is on Barkley. Especially if he has decent games against Ohio St/Michigan and they win one of the two.

Side note: Who the hell does the scheduling for the B1G? PSU's schedule is cupcake city except that they have to play OSU/UM in back to back weeks.

I'm taking Baker Mayfield as of now. Think Barkley will need 2k yards if he's gonna win. It's definitely possible though

They should've never been there at all. The Stidham hype was a complete joke and KP is an average SEC back. I'd love to know how many boogs threw away money betting on them to win. I'm sure no one would admit it now.
Yeah, I'm still baffled at how Stidham got so much NATIONAL preseason hype. I can understand Boog fans building him up, but I was surprised at how much talk he was getting everywhere else. Cam Newton didn't receive nearly as much attention and he actually very successfully played a year of juco.

There were plenty of people talking about dropping some cash. Even more talking about wasting some on a Natty.

Everyone knows that great AU seasons come out of nowhere. The moment there was hype, it was over.

I say it's Mayfield's until it's not. Dude has kilt it so far and has the yuge win.

Clint Moseley is what happens when an above average HS QB gets to throw to the likes of Sammie Coates in 2A Alabama high school football.
I don't remember what he did or who he was in HS. I was definitely new to following the boogs on message boards and stuff at that point. I remember some people being excited though because Gus recruited him right after he joined the staff. That was back when people thought Gus was a 'QB Guru' so there was no chance Clint sucked.

Go ahead and scratch mason rudolph off the list.

Baker Mayfield
Saquon Barkley
Sam Darnold
Jalen Hurts
Lamar Jackson

One of those guys is taking the trophy

Barkley may be the leader in the clubhouse after last night's performance!

Why would you scratch RuDolph off?

Also, why would you have Hurts on the current list?

Might be time to give Luke Falk a mention.

Ain't nobody from WSU gonna win the heisman. West Coast bias is real. Unless you're from a blueblood program it ain't happening.

I agree I don't think he will win it. But his performance/stats so far this year deserve a mention at this current time, IMO.

Rudolph lost a game and no one will care about him anymore.

Jalen Hurts plays on the best team in the country and most likely won't lose a game all season. He'll put up some big numbers eventually and you better believe he'll be in nyc. Luke Falk isn't winning it.

I actually have a $50 bet with cambobarkely on Hurts not being an invitee to NY. Based on his current stats, I feel real confident on that bet as of today.

Rudolph didn't have a terrible game and will still be in it the discussion. Need to win, though.

May need to mention Jake Browning as well.

But IMO, it is a 3 man race right now between Mayfield, Barkley, and Jackson.

I'm pretty confident that he'll be in NYC as long as he doesn't get injured. He'll pile on some stats here soon and he'll have a 2000 yd passing/1000 yards rushing season

Will need more than that for an invite, IMO.

His current stats against Power of 5 schools (2 games):

24 carries for 103 yards 0 TDS
19 of 35 175 yards 1/0

I'm not too worried about his stats right now. If he underperforms in some big games coming up, then I'll think he may not make it to NYC. But all it takes is one BIG game for the QB of the #1 in the country to get back in the mix. And he'll definitely have one

Yes, it’s Barkley and Mayfield’s to lose. I still think that Jalen Hurts winds up in nyc but am less confident about it just bc he’ll probably only play in the first half of every game until the Iron Bowl

Also doesn't help Hurts when his backup stats are somewhat in line with his. It would take a monstrous 2nd half of the year for Hurts (stats wise) to get an invite. Not saying that isn't doable, but it is a major uphill battle.

Palk getting some love.

Isn’t it refreshing to see back ups get used and prepped correctly? They let the guy do what he’ll need to do if he has to play. Must be nice.

I’d put some of the onus on these teams. Pitt is trash this year
