Alright gang. It's senior night, which means it's the last game in the clam this season. Don't know much about A&M other than they're overperforming and have a well respected, yet incredibly sweaty, coach in Buzz Williams. But like I said, it's senior night so the place will be rocking and all five of the seniors will definitely wanna go out on a big note. So maybe a little less Jaylin or they could blow A&M out of the damn arena and we could get some heavy minutes for the youngsters. I'm hoping for the latter. Nerds at ESPN have us favored BIGLY. So obviously, I'm gonna predict a massacre too. Boogs 90 - 70.

My stars if someone had told me we would be 24-5, undefeated at home, and lost our most talented player for 3 games, I’d have been HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. If we can win out at home, I’m happier than that. Imagine all the “how long has it been since the Boogs have lost at the Clam” talk that will generate.

Hoping this may be the game we hear "the Clam" live and on the TV. Of course it's always my hope but I digress.

Flagg is a good player but the kind of guy that we can focus on and make life miserable for because they don’t have enough pieces around him. Nebo is the kind of big that would give lots of teams fits but should be hampered by Wiley a good bit as long as Austin stays out of foul trouble. Mac would likely just get bullied so we want to avoid that as much as possible.

Couple of interesting stats for them. They allow the most 3pt attempts and the least 2 point attempts in the SEC. I believe they actual lead the nation in fewest 2PA allowed. They aren’t particularly good protecting the offensive glass. They turn it over a ton and they are the 2nd worst scoring team in the SEC. They play a slow place and basically make it a rock fight.

So take the under?

I'm guessing the starting lineup will be Jvon, Samir, Danjel, Mac, and Austin since it's senior night. Interesting to see how long Bruce persists with it though. Probably just a few possessions.

Danjel will get to play his natural position for the first time since his RS Freshman year!

I'd like to see an alternate reality where Danjel only played the 3. I'm not sure it would be any better and it might even be worse (the thought of him guarding some 3's that we see is nearly comical to me and his handles are not that of a 3) but maybe he develops more fully there. Maybe he approaches his ceiling.

I’ll readily admit I’ve lost all objectivity with Danjel but he’d be garb at 3. He’s way too clumsy and lacks agility. He needs the space to operate the 4 allows him. He can’t do much other than make an occasional wide open shot and does a decent job of passing it into Austin. He’s too soft to play the 4 but then again he’s generally too soft to be out on a D1 basketball court. Still pray to the Gods the young boog will make me look like an imbecile come tourney time but see no reason that happens.

it’s taken every fibre of my being not to pile on... I was really convinced that the way he stepped up after Chuma went down would be the springboard to his final redemption story arc... 6 months to get in shape - guaranteed minutes and shots - feeling the love from everyone needing and depending on him

the romantic in me just wanted it to be true so badly that I’m continuing to ignore all evidence to the contrary... I’m still holding out hope that something magical happens because it’s March and all of these seniors can sense the end of the road... but at this point even I have to admit it’s blind homerism as it pertains to Danjel and Mac

Austin, Samir and JVon will be bleeding on the court from now until the end of the season - but I’m just not sure it will be enough

Been feeling a little under the weather lately. Kind of forgot it was gameday. So got a little pep in my step now and some tenor back in my voice. Ready to lay down on the couch, stick my hand in my pants, and scream at the tv in t minus 6 hours.

This is what life is all about now with Bruce

looks like I was wrong. Mac coming off the bench even on senior night. Surprised since Bruce did start Ho Daddy over Chuma last year on senior night in even a bigger game.
