these assholes still won’t go away... we’re getting any shot we want though - so it’s only a matter of time

What a response. They cut it to 6 and we stretch it back to 18. That’s championship caliber play.

I wouldn’t say we’re Boogin’, but we’re about to... it’s been cute those tryhards have hung around for 32 minutes but they’re finally missing shots - we just can’t get a goddamn rebound

Mac, Horace, Chuma, and Austin need to actually help out these final 8 minutes and Bryce and Jared will bury these losers once and for all

our bigs have been godfvckingawful... we should be getting ready for chAUlkies at this point
Our bench was nothing tonight. Wiley was the only guy that gave us anything. 12 total pts from the bench and we got both Horace and Malik on their unproductive spaz night. The Jumper Cables were broke tonight. Good thing the starting backcourt was fire.

Well gang I missed watching this one in real time due to a Christmas party. Watched a little on my phone and watched the last 3 minutes live. Party would have only been “ok” if not for the fact that I got to watch a bunch of bammers watch the Heisman presentation live. That was hilarious. Rewatched this morning. Basically a night of intermittent boogin IMO. Bryce and Jared were great. Samir played well. Looking more and more like Danjel may be an important part of the equation.

I honestly can’t understand why Mac isn’t a better rebounder. Dude gets pushed around under there a lot
Would make sense that his lower body strength hasn’t developed after that injury. He would have been expected to add strength this offseason but that wasn’t happening with that brutal rehab. Need Horace to do more than he did last night.

I don’t know how much more strength or mass Mac can add without losing some of his explosion and elevation which makes him special. He has a very very narrow frame. He’s listed at 210 but I’d guess he’s around 200. He’s never gonna be a guy that bullies people for rebounds imo

Do you guys think Bruce will balance Austin and Mac’s minutes pretty evenly all season? Or do you think we’ll start seeing Austin get 5 minutes more a game soon? With Mac’s three ball in disarray and Austin becoming a better shot blocker than Mac, I don’t think there’s much of a debate on who’s playing better

I think it's gonna be pretty even and largely going to depend on matchups and hot hands. Wiley will struggle against teams that have 5's that shoot it well. He's not as comfortable guarding out there. Teams that run PnR with their 5's may also give him problems, Mac seems to be better in that situation. But there will be quite a few teams with more typical 5's that Austin can eat up. There are a few SEC teams that are going to really struggle with his size and build.

Gang I must recap my Clamming experience. It was really an overload of the senses. The Clam. The Bruce. The HYGs. Those pathetic JV uniforms with black lettering on Dayton. Made it a challenge to focus on the hoops.

Guess Bryce should be my new favorite HYG after that show. My buddy said something about poor ft shooting when he missed one early. I rolled my eyes and Bryce proceeded to ball the fug out. Jared was a stud. I thought Samir had a really great game.

Seemed to me those try hard flyers had the shooting game of their lives to only lose by 10. We could have rebounded a lot better. Chuma seemed tentative with Denim in attendance. Malik definitely did not get us boogin so that was disappointing. Got tix specificallly for the view of his 2nd half jam.

Anyway all in all a terrific experience.

Interesting game for our guys. The first 10 minutes or so was impressive. The guards (including Samir) were unbelievable. The bigs? Not so much. Like Bruce said postgame with the SECNow crew, gotta have more even contributions from everyone because that's when we're at our bests. Kinda felt like we were due a game like this from Dunbar and Spencer. Glad it came on a night when Bryce and Jared and Samir dominated.

We seem to relax when we get these quick 20-point leads. Seemed to happen 2-3 times Saturday night. Get up big, start taking a few more questionable shots or not working the ball enough and losing a bit of focus on the defensive end, then forcing things a bit too much when the opponent makes a run. I imagine it's tough to stay locked in when you basically seal a victory in the first 5 minutes of the game. But we need to be a little more meticulous and calculated and keep that dominant attitude. We can flip that switch at any moment, but I'd prefer we don't ever flip it off.

Still an impressive victory considering how Dayton shot the ball and how little production we got from 5 of our solid contributors. Excited to see Danjel back on the court and how he fits into this group. Give me 8 and 5 from him the rest of the season with great defensive effort, and I'll be so damned happy.
