++++ Boogs vs Arkansas ++++

The roster is lacking consistent playmakers right now. Gotta have more than just Sharife right now. Gotta find ways to get Jamal looks because he's shot it pretty well so far. Gotta find ways to work the ball in to Williams at the key and let him make plays. Al has to be way more consistent than what we saw last night. I love everything we are doing and what we get from Sharife, but we have to let some other players get more involved.

ultimately it needs to be - and will be - Thor... he’s the most talented guy on the roster, and may be next year even with Jabari

he’s Chuma 2.0... just gotta wait for that switch to flip full time... the good news is he’s MUCH farther along than Chuma was as a freshman, and Thor is even younger comparatively since he reclassified

the tourney ban is a blessing for my overall health, because the blown games haven’t even bothered me... we’re learning lessons we’d have learned in November and December during a normal year, only we’re learning them against SEC teams instead of mid majors, so we’re blowing games we should win

all in all, get out of the season healthy - get Boogie P back at some point, whether this year or over the summer - and none of these losses even matter

Yep. The minute we lost postseason eligibility this season became one big, long training session. We're gaining valuable experience and learning some hard lessons right now when it's not costing us anything other than pride to learn those lessons. If we blow a 19-point lead against anyone next year, I might blow a gasket. This year? Chalk it up to this team having to learn how to win on the road against a quality opponent.

Those Sharife double teams 35+ ft from the basket should produce an excellent shot everytime. He can get it to the guy in the middle with ease....it's just up to whoever that is to make something happen/be aggressive but be in control and not just immediately go commit a charge taking it to the rack. That's what frustrated me the most. If we could really make teams pay for doing that then they would be forced to use the UK defensive strategy which very few SEC teams are equipped to run successfully.

Yeah, we needed to do more. They were giving us 4v3 looks quite a bit, but we kept burying our guards in the corners and not having Thor attack the paint when he received the pass. Arkansas put defenders on the baselines to defend the wings and a big in the middle of the floor. We should've been able to force a help in a 4v3 situation and get easier looks, but we made it look like we were playing 3v5.

We were literally always one more pass away from a wide open look, and most of the time they would have been dunks or layups. But instead we had our head down and were getting called for charges or putting up contested shots.

Yep. And there were a few times where Thor was wide open and pulled up for a 3 instead of pressing the action a little more to draw defenders. But hey, they atoned for it Saturday and seemed to have learned from that mistake of letting off the gas.
