Boogs vs. Longwood (Baseball)

That’s good. Seems he may live up the hype. So I would take it that means Butch sees Mize as #1 and Burns as #2

Daniels #2
Burns #3

Daniels looked good, but only pitched 3 innings. Once we got up so big, he started throwing relievers.

I think the most impressive looking pitcher so far this year has been Coker. Hope I didn't just jinx him.

I always thought college coaches used their 1 on Friday and 2 on Sunday. Or at least it seems we did that in 2010. Maybe I’m remembering wrong

When did Casey get run into the ground? Did I miss him not finishing the season?

You think Sonny gets a call from Miss St?
He missed long stretches of the season with arm problems, cookie. Surely you remember that. As for MSU, they don’t need a wholesale attitude change in their program so I’m not sure Sonny would be the right fit.

long stretches? I thought he was held out one weekend to not allow him to be overthrown. Same with Daniels and Thompson, if I remember correctly.

Edit for update:

If my math is correct:

Mize missed 4 starts
Thompson missed 1
Daniels missed 1

All finished the season healthy and zero needed arm surgery after the season.

We've got a lot of young talent on the team. I'm pretty excited about the future.

4 starts is a fuggin ton in a 50 game season

If you base it on a “50 game season” it’s not bad at all. He made 12 starts and had 13 appearances. Once every four games basically using your number.

Slippin tries too hard on this. His love for Sonny blinds him as bad as Rice's love for Auburn.

Nah, Friday and Saturday are the studs.

Burns has some serious velocity and does a few good things with changing his motion to make it look different. He has decent off-speed stuff. He is going to get hit by SEC bats, but I like our situation on Sunday with Burns better than Davis last year. Hopefully Davis can be a solid Saturday guy, but his stuff still just looks ok to me.

To me, the guy with the potential best stuff outside of Mize (right now) is Mitchell. But he is just too inconsistent. Who is starting tonight against Troy? I would assume we will try not to pitch anyone who we need to go this weekend.

IF any pitcher is used tonight that we would want to use this weekend, I would guess its Mitchell and maybe Coker.

Depends on the coaching staff. A few years ago we saved Grant Dayton, who was our ace, for Sundays because we knew he was going to give us a great chance to win and would hope we could get a win Friday or Saturday to win the series. Other coaches have saved aces for Saturdays and thrown #2 on Friday.

I meant to type 60. Regardless, having your ace miss 4 starts during conference play because you had to overwork him to pick up wins against OOC scrubs is embarrassing. I know Little League coaches with better sense. And don’t even get me started on that fuggin ‘appearance.’

You can like Golloway, that's fine with me. Don't be the demeat version of baseball though.

The “appearance” was the whole reason for my post! Anyway, waiting on the pissant list.

Yeah I’m not going back to look up their names because it’s irrelevant. The kids proved their irrelevancy when they quit. Hope they found a really nice guy to play for that buys them ice cream after games, though.

Shocking.

You’re not going to get anywhere with Slippin on this topic. He’s dug his feet into the sand really deeply, and rationally or irrationally, he’s been as consistent on this topic as any poster I’ve seen on a certain topic.

It is pretty funny, because he ridicules and makes fun of posters for doing this very same thing on other topics. Pretty hypocritical.

I think time will tell if Slippin is right. I mean, there was one time where I thought Coach Pawlaw was going to be the GOAT for us.

I will say I am surprised how many people do miss Golloway. He was a very bizarre coach.

Mitchell ended up starting and had 6 k's through the first two innings. Would be great if he could become a consistent guy for us, because I agree he has great stuff when he is on.

Think he finished with 9 over 4 1/3 innings
