Well gang unfortunate scheduling led me to watching this one. Here's what we saw:

An overwhelming collection of athletes abuse a not so talented group. The D is just sick nasty. Kudos to KEVIN and this group of tenacious youngsters. They once again carried a mismanaged group on O.

Sure there were highlights and it was a nice win but let's be real. The run game is trash and the passing game takes a long time to develop. Not a recipe for success against quality opponents. Long gone are the days of NICK and JOHN where we'd just gash people. Too much struggling to gain short yardage against bad teams.

Of course Stidham is decent and MALIK is an absolute joy but this O simply isn't championship caliber. This D is though and the SEC is complete trash so we might be witnessing another long mid season win streak. 9-3 is still within reach and that will mean another season of Gus and Co.

The D is sick and I agree DV, our running game is trash. Kerryon is so freaking slow.
Malik Miller and Kam Martin along with some Barrett need to be getting all carries.

KJ looks hurt
The War Machine is broken down and I have no clue what happened to him. He was dominant last year.

I probably shouldn't be, but I'm surprised by the defense every week. I keep waiting for them to be exposed but they keep getting better. And there doesn't seem to be a ton of depth on defense but it doesn't seem to matter
I still can't figure out who everyone is out there but they are just a nasty bunch. Everyone is aggressive and makes tackles.

D is great. Run game is garbage. Even if the fakes are lazy as hell, I'm glad that Gus/Chirp is incorporating the speed sweep or whatever with Eli Stove more this year. Not sure why he completely got away from that staple of his offense the past two seasons. Or maybe he did use it and it was just ass bc he picked the wrong players to run it. Either way, Eli is a game breaker and will house a fair few against these trash Ds he's about to play.

Pray for no injuries on the D Line. Depth there isn't great. It's why they're desperately trying to get all those freshman experience. Everywhere else though has quality depth imo.

Freshman that look good:
Jordyn Peters at safety is gonna be a player
Devan Barrett needs more pt immediately
And obviously Malick Willis showed why he should be starting next year regardless of if Stidham stays.

KP was never good. He made his name by dominating overmatched defenses similar to Mizzou and MSU. Kind of like Gus.

Yes we need to get these young backs more reps and try to get Pett right for the stretch. But Gus gonna Gus and ride a back till they breakdown.

You think LB has good depth? D Will, T Will, Davis, and Atkinson seem to be the players. I could be forgetting someone that gets a lot of PT. Safety is a concern to me as well in depth but maybe Ruffin just doesn't play because Tre Matthews and Roberts play so well

Ruffin and Daniel Thomas are good depth at Safety imo. Then you have Dinson and Javaris Davis guys that can play anywhere in the secondary well.

They only play 2 LBs at a time most plays. So having 4 quality, experienced guys is good depth to me.

Then there are a couple of freshman who could play in a disaster.

Guess "good depth" depends on your interpretation. But a quality two deep is about all you can ask for

This is fake news.

Either the blocking isn't there or he is hurt. And Kerryon is average at best.
Our OL is better this year than last. KP is a below average SEC back. I tried telling you fools this last year, but just like everything else, you strapped on your O&B glasses and refused to listen. I bet you were one of the goobs who blew money betting on him or JS to win the heisman.

Dinson is very good. Half the time I don't even know what position he's playing but he's just out there making tackles non stop

OL looks worse to me. Run game typically as good as the OL unless you just have some freak RB which we haven't had in a long time.

I think Pett is banged up as well but I never thought he was that great. He was at least a decent SEC back last year.

Yeah, hard to say with a straight face that this OL that gave up a record 11 sacks is better than last years. Not sure where he's getting that

Could Garner turn our OL into a nasty bunch? I think it's time to consider just letting him be The Line coach

I haven't placed a single bet this year. Which is odd because I came out on top last year. Just been too busy to bet. But anyway, I am not buying what you are selling.

Not a top 10 back in the SEC. That isn't what I consider to be good.

He hasn't been the same since Gus ran him into the ground against Vandy. I know you are bitter still that Roc Thomas sucked and Kerryon is worse than Omac, but that doesn't mean that you have to keep pushing the narrative that Pet "sucks". Didn't he run for like 250 yards vs arky last year?

Whoa buddy. Nobody is pumping up Roc or Kerryon. You mean he ran for a lot of yards against a pitiful Arky team who was playing for the 8th week in a row? They should've just handed him the DOAK in the postgame...

This magical Oline you say we have helped KJ get 48 yards on 28 carries vs Mizzou. So if Pet sucked last year what is KJ this year?? Worst AU starting back ever?

Again, no one is saying Pettway sucks. He's just an average at best SEC back. It isn't my fault your below average football IQ didn't allow you to see this coming from a mile away like the rest of us.

"KP was never good" implies a level of suckyness. Maybe what you meant was "KP is not an elite back, he is just average to good". But when you said he was never "good" that leaves it open to interpretation that he is either horrible or just ok. I think he is a good back WHEN he is 100%.

Are you willing to walk back the Oline accolades?

I think it's a little of everything. He's pretty banged up, the blocking schemes have changed which don't suit him or his style, and he's probably really frustrated by how things have happened. I think he had plans to have a banner year and leave for the NFL. I know he was seen around town before the season started talking with an adviser. Just don't think things have worked out for him like he'd hoped this year, and it's weighing heavily on him.

I have no idea about the adviser parts, but he was talking about Heismas and breaking records in the preseason in a lot of interviews. It's clearly been frustrating for him. He has less total yards combined so far this year than he did in one game against Arkansas last season. Hindsight is 20/20 but he should have left for the draft last year

I have a friend who played at Auburn that saw him out at lunch one day with an adviser and someone from the AD. With him having a kid and probably making plans for the draft to help his family, this season has to be frustrating. And you're probably right that he should've left after last year.

I mean, you were probably right, but I just can't see him being drafted after he ran a 4.8 at the combine.
My only argument was that his skill set was the type that wouldn't benefit from another year. He wasn't gonna show anything else or improve his stock by coming back. I don't remember what round I thought, but 5th-7th rounder seemed possible at the time. Don't think he has a chance now, and last year there at least a chance

Yeah, he'll still make an NFL roster regardless of what happens this season. He's a very versatile player and a jumbo athlete that has no fear of contact. Probably won't get drafted though unless he has some massive mid season rennasaince starting this weekend
