Kuminga to g league. Real shock the world moment there for the kid

Another aspect of unchartered territory for AU fans with guys like Green and Kuminga. In the past it seemed our near misses ended up at Southern Miss or Mercer. Will be easier to keep an eye on this new breed. I’m anxious to see how their careers play out for sure.

+++++

I’m couldn’t give less of a shit if either of them ever pick up a basketball again

Boog or Die as far I’m concerned

Obviously they are going to regret spurning the preeminent NCAA basketball coach and program in the country. I’m just anxious to see the levels of failure they reach.

jokes aside, Green was far more painful than Kuminga... electric doesn’t even begin to describe his game

maybe I’ll come across a tweet or highlight of Isaac or Chuma delittling his poor ass at some point and remember the good times we had - but for now, I’d just as soon forget he ever existed

Completely agree with your thoughts on losing Green vs JK.

Seeing those Chuma and Okoro can’t happen soon enough.

Auburn has signed five so far in its 2020 class, a group ranked No. 6 in the country, and although there is still one scholarship to fill it is becoming more and more apparent that the Tigers likely will use it in the 2021 class.

As I’ve mentioned several times, there aren’t any seniors on the 2020-21 roster, which means there are no scholarships to give in the 2021 class. Obviously, that would change if someone left the program/transfers, but until that happens, there aren’t any open scholarships from the roster.

That hasn’t slowed Auburn’s recruitment of 2021 guys. The Tigers already have dished out several offers. Auburn has the one scholarship from the 2020 class and if history is any indication, likely will have another one or two open by the end of school year.

With at least one scholarship and the potential of others opening up, Auburn has targeted several recruits in the 2021 class. Some, however, are higher priorities than others.

Here are five of the top targets and the latest on each.

Auburn’s 2021 target list starts with Smith. He’s No. 1 on the board and probably has been for a while now. Auburn assistant Ira Bowman is key here. Bowman has been recruiting Smith since before Smith’s sophomore season. The two have a strong bond. Smith also has been to Auburn several times and is very familiar with five-star point guard signee Sharife Cooper. LSU, where Smith’s father played, will be a factor, as will in-state Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina, which offered on Thursday. A lot can and likely will change in Smith’s recruitment, but I expect Auburn to be a mainstay.

If Smith is No. 1 on the board, Davison likely is No. 2. Both are local kids attracting national attention. Like Smith, Auburn has been recruiting Davison for several years. Also like Smith, Davison has visited Auburn several times (he lives a little more than an hour from campus). He also has very good relationships with all of Auburn’s coaches, especially assistant Wes Flanigan.

Poplar saw Samir Doughty leave Philadelphia for Auburn and have a lot of success while winning championships (Doughty actually attended the same school as Poplar at one time). Seeing Doughty succeed really opened the door for Auburn with Poplar. It also doesn’t hurt that Bowman has good relationships with Poplar and family.

Auburn went into Nevada and offered Collins and the offer was well received. Collins is very intrigued with Auburn and has developed a good relationship with Flanigan, who is the point man for Auburn in Collins’ recruitment. Collins hasn’t visited Auburn, but plans to as soon as possible. He’s very interested in the Tigers.

Bruce Pearl’s Wisconsin roots are key here. So is Steven Pearl, who is the lead recruiter. Both have developed a good relationship with Graham and have Auburn in the mix. Graham will be one to watch should he visit in the fall or spring

Per KEEF at TO(O)S:
5-star hoops recruit has Auburn in top group
By KEEF NIEBUHR

One of the country's elite basketball recruits for 2022 calls Auburn one of his early favorites.

Five-star power-forward Brandon Huntley-Hatfield of Scotland Performance Institute (Pa.) released a top 11 via Twitter on Thursday that included the Tigers, along with Baylor, Kansas, Georgetown, Georgia, Howard, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

Huntley-Hatfield, who is listed at 6-feet-8, 208 pounds, is the No. 1 power-forward and No. 6 overall recruit nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite. You can watch some of his highlights up above.

Kentucky leads in the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Here is his 247Sports evaluation: One of the most impressive forward prospects in the 2022 class. He has good size for the position, a sturdy build and long arms. For his size and age, Huntley-Hatfield has an impressive skill level, and is a capable shot maker from mid-range and three. He wants to fade to the perimeter and hunt jump shots, which can hinder his overall productiveness at times. That said, he’s a tremendous talent and with continued development could be a one-and-done level recruit. Huntley-Hatfield is the cousin of NBA player Alex Poythress.
Auburn does not yet have any commitments for the 2022 recruiting class.

Not that it matters much since we completely own UT but they somehow got a commit from an ultra stud PG. Just blows my mind an elite teen would go for Barnes over BRUCE.

five star hut hut player that has a Bruce offer too. I know the tweet is a week old but apparently Boogs are getting real confident here

these get to know you features have been great
Oh yes

What can this 2020 class do at Auburn?

Cooper: I feel like a lot of these guys are very underrated. I've seen a lot of the top guys. I've played with every top player in the class. And these guys here are definitely at the top of the class. Just being able to play with them and see how they are on the court, off the court, I really have a lot of respect for this freshmen class. I feel like we're going to turn a lot of heads.
