*****Official season long 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Thread******

Finally.

Also saw this the other day and got a laugh. Wouldn't put it past them to do something like this.

The little things with Larry and Leon kill me. Like not being able to transfer the phone call. Really good episode as we all expected after the time off.

When he holds the door for the groom that he said should be a bride. Lol

Pretty good episode. Really hope Ted and Cheryl wind up getting together. That would send Larry into orbit.

Was there any point to beginning the whole season with a dysfunctional soap bottle? I'm guessing it'll tie into Suzy's business eventually.

The show feels a bitter over produced now. It's definitely lost the original documentary feel it had in the first couple of seasons.

Hoping Leon is his permanent assistant. I always wanted Larry to make some reverse OJ/Kato joke about he's got a black houseguest. I think it'd be awesome if Larry has to sneak back into his house and the police question Leon like they questioned kato kaylin.

Also, some of it seemed really scripted and other parts seemed so loose that they missed pretty obvious opportunities for jokes.

consistent chuckles early, but leave it to Leon to deliver the first full throated lol of the season with his “I wouldn’t even say that by mistake” throwaway line in his first scene

I may have missed that. What scene was that in?

Also, the PAM genital mutilation acronym just so Larry could say it was a cooking spray was awful

when Larry goes to the guest house to have him turn down the music... Leon starts talking about lampin’ vs chillin’ - Larry says black people have all the best slang, all he has is “boss” - and Leon says a couple of things then throws in “I wouldn’t even say that shit by mistake” real quick before Larry starts talking about the receptionist

the little comments + Leon’s quick delivery, always kill me

Yeah Leon is definitely the best.

I really hope I'm wrong about this gang, but I'm totally anticipating a super cringey scene where Larry creates an argument btw his former assistant, who they casually said was raped by her uncle, and Sammie's future war vet husband about who has the worst form of ptsd

Full blown out there prediction right here:

The vet boyfriend winds up falling for Larry/Suzy's assistant and ruining the wedding. They bond over ptsd and having a gimp or some shit

Yeah the production looked a lot different. It's been 5 years though. I was watching some early season eps and they looked like they were shot on a camcorder.

Yeah, I’m sure his budget was way cheaper then, but the original premise was for it to look and feel like a documentary so some of that was intentional. It obviously morphed into just a regular single camera sitcom, but this opening episode had a lot of drone and steadycam stuff that I don’t think was ever used before. Those opening establishing shots made it feel like a movie and not Curb imo

Jeff said all the producers he contacted were out after the Kimmel thing. Hopefully it's dead.
He’ll probably find some rogue producer or decide to produce the whole thing himself. He just wrote and directed a broadway musical in real life, I’m guessing this Fatwah stuff sticks around.

I trust LD. First time I saw the Blacks was like oh god this is gonna be hackey. Not expecting better than ever curb but it'll be a solid season.
I think him self producing a play would be funny.

I’m hoping the actual Fatwah/death hit on him is done. I don’t want to see him pretending everyone is trying to kill him

The "groom" of the lesbian wedding, Nasim Pedrad, is Iranian so I could see that storyline interacting with Ayatollah storyline at some point

HOLY MOLY, that was hilarious!!! Hahaha, this show kills me.
