Unfortunately this is premature but I thought I’d get it going. This is what we’re looking at (yes I’m making assumptions)

Rife, turbo
Jalen, turbo / Powell
Flanny / Cambridge/Powell
JWILL / ?
Stretch / grad transfer

It sounds like they may allow seniors the option to return for another year. I would assume Austin wants to go ahead and make money given his injury history. Samir is a 5th year senior so he probably wants to move on also. I could see Mac possibly wanting to return to get another year of post-injury play to improve his stock to get a contract overseas.

It might make me a shitty person, but I really don’t want Mac or Danjel back... both have fully peaked, and neither are very effective at their given roles. I’d rather see some new blood. Especially if they’re going to take up scholarships for freshmen.

I think Mac will likely just want to move on with his life. Dudes about to have his second degree

maybe J’von since he didn’t get significant minutes til his senior year and he was pretty much an unknown to most non-boogs coming into the season

Yeah I can’t take another year of Danjel gents and you know he’d come back.

Still have a soft spot for Mac but I suspect we’ll have better on the roster next season.

I’ve really only seen that for Spring sports, I have my doubts it happens for winter sports. They didn’t miss an entire season, just the tournaments.

We got Moore at 4. I’d like to think we’ll get 1 of Kuminga, Brown, Thor. Then a FR 5 either Cliff, Sanogo or Cardwell. Optimal roster be something like:

1. Sharife, Turbo
2. Jalen, Cambridge
3. Kuminga, Flanigan, Powell
4. Jaylin, Thor, Moore
5. Stretch, Sanogo

That’s 12 but then can we get Jamal and Franklin to transfer? Ideally then we can squeeze a grad tranny in there.

I don't get the feeling that they're gonna let winter sports/bball players get another year of eligibility. They played a whole season and it'd just screw up recruiting and roster numbers. Seriously doubt that happens.

anywho. Lot of you guys not even including Javon Franklin in your two deeps. I got a sneaky feeling that he plays a decent amount next season. Super bouncy dude with length that looked like he has a decent shot on him. I think he'll backup both the 3 and 4 spots. Maybe even stretch 5 and be the next Mac

I really can't see us landing all four of those dudes. But I guess it's possible. Part of me thinks that he emergence of Jay Magic may scare off Brown and Thor but who knwos

I don’t think we get kuminga / sanogo + jalen. I think it’s either the first two as a package or Jalen.


And from what I hear from folks semi-close to one of the assistants is that jalen is far more likely.

I don’t get inside info much, but it sounds like as of now jalen is likely a Boog. Obvi shit changes but I’m expecting that young stud to be in O&B come November. Please don’t e-kill me if he doesn’t come here

I’d take my chances with all 5 coming back and adding SC, JG and one more(Brown). We’d be the best, deepest team in the country without question.

Doubt the young teens know about Jaylin the phenom like we do but supposedly Brown wants to play the 3. Could swap him for Kuminga then maybe Cardwell for Sanogo. Was def an optimistic roster projection but I think it’s reasonable we could get Jalen and 1 more elite stud. Should look at least like:

1. Sharife, Turbo
2. Jalen, Powell, Jamal
3. Cambridge, Flanigan
4. Jaylin, Moore, Franklin
5. Stretch, Cardwell, Grad Tranny

that’d still be a top 10 squad. Add another elite stud or 2 and we right atop the college hoops universe again.
 
Turbo can shoot the ball really good but can’t dribble that good. I can see Johnson moving on. It would be good for him. He can’t play at this level.
 

mad disrespect from Jon Rothstein here. I kind of get it cuz the boogs are losing a ton of experience, but this is definitely still a top 45 squad with the kids we have returning and the crootin class (as is) coming in.

Jew on Jew crime here sheesh. Tennessee safely represents our floor every year and he’s got them 15. That’s about right with the current roster add another elite stud or 2 put us in the top 5-10 easily.

Agreed. He should have prob taken Jamal Johnson’s role this year about mid season when Jamal became completely useless.

The young boog is an electrifying athlete with a plus J and handle. Just wasn’t ready to run point but has all the tools to be a productive HYG.
