OT: Boog insiders

We have people that will tell you off the record that we have more money than we know what to do with. This was the first real big purchase. They are buying the band like 50K worth of new instruments for the new HS. That is just with what the Colonial or whatever it is Promenade brings in. They are developing a 70 acre shopping center across the interstate from that and looking at another one down from the CP. Crazy traffic from hell is about to be tripled iyam.
That one extra lane on I65 isn't going to do anything if all that goes through

Sounds like you Shelby County people are about to be overrun. Only thing we have to worry about in North Jefferson is where the next Dollar General will be built

I'm hoping that my house on Thompson Rd. can gain some value over the next few years and I can move out. No way can I handle all of this.

I already know of people moving to Vestavia because of that ruling that have lived in Gardendale a long time. Shoot maybe they'll all move further North to go to Mortimar Jordan so my property value can go up
I’m surprised it wasn’t passed and they let gardendale become their own thing.

I've dun been to Mortimer Jordan 3 times and I git lozt ERRY DAYUM TIME!!!!

I always thought au_93 had the best football info but he rarely ever posts
He used to be really hooked up with a coach (or coaches) on the staff. I think he still has some inside info. IIRC, back in preseason 2004 when David Irons went down with a knee injury he posted that the AU coaches had believed we were going undefeated prior to that. He said we might anyway. One of the more prescient bits of insight I have seen on the boog board. Assuming I remember correctly that is.

Dis iz abzaloootly so true!! Itz got to be tuff az hayul bein an Auburn MOD for deez websites. Dat building on lockdown.
I'm buddeeeeez wit a coupla playaz dads and even thay ain't got much info.
Wheneva I see dem kids, I azk dem a MILLYUN KWEZTYUNS.
Ova Krizzzmuzz wun of them dun sed dat MALEEEK WILLIS and the BOOOOBIE WHITLOW kid wuz the two bezt playaz during the bowl praktisses.
Obveeeuzzly I ain't got any proof of dis but the newz did come frum a PLAYA at PRAKTISS.
Not to derail this thread but...Whitlow is apparently a great athlete, but I have heard that there are possible issues. Not like he is a thug or anything but being a great athlete at a small school maybe some attitude associated with being a big fish in a small pond? He got banged up some in HS even playing against that competition level too. On the plus side, the kid is apparently very competitive, which is a plus.Maybe some good coaching/development will turn him into a beast. He seems to have the necessary size and athletic ability.

The Greg's own @AuWaterfowl always has legit info. And @AUNaughty7 even though he's been mia.
I'm still here. Still drop in every once in a while but not as much as I would like. School and work full time is a bitch. I'm still at every boog sporting event. Section 118 basketball and 41 at baseball if anyone wants to stop and say hey. I'm the short guy most likely making an ass of myself.

Speaking of @Gran_Polla, how about that $88 milllion new HS they got now? Looks legit

They have open house this Saturday. It is massive! At one time I thought about moving the family to Vestavia or Mountain Brook, but now I think that would be a stupid move. They are building a 75 acre mall across from the current mall. Alabaster is moving on up!

@Gran_Polla and @Docdumpsta know their stuff around Bham sports.

We were playing baseball the other night at Thompson. Probably the last time we will play them at the old baseball field I guess.... Gonna miss those grilled hamburgers.

Side note, I saw they had 4 kids with torn labrum's . I asked what happened and they said each had hurt in football workouts. GranPolla, any idea if that was true or was that just a couple of baseball dads dogging Mark?

BTW, Auburn High Baseball team is the real deal.

I was at the Thompson game. Thompson left bases loaded early and they never got got going after that. Spain Park is very disciplined at the plate.

The labrum issue is true. One kid has torn both in the past 6 months.

I missed the first game against Auburn, but I heard they were legit!

They have been the real deal for a while. They put us out in the 3rd round and won State my senior year and didn’t even have a dominant pitcher. They could just absolutely rake. I don’t know what that coach does in teaching hitting, but he knows what he’s doing

I'd rather have @Hooks45 from TOS come hang out than worrying about any "football insiders". As long as Gus is around it doesn't matter.
I thought Hooks and this @Bryan9451 were the same fella.
They needed to 6 lane 65 at least past alabaster like yesterday. Traffic is awful.
You could 12 Lane it and it won’t change anything. This is the stuff that I do for a living. Unless more roads are built to create alternate routes, traffic is going to stack up like that. But at the same time, we are a commuter society and as such motorists are as dumb as a box of rocks. Big cities like Bham with interstates like 65/20/59 create a cattle herd mentality. “Everybody uses it, so everyone wants to use it.” If more people would use the local roads when traveling locally, the interstates would clear up. But you have so many locals that want to just jump on the interstate for a 3 or 4 mile stretch that the ripple effects of the log jam go back 10-15 Miles.

Was it all paid with local tax revenue? I underestimated the budgets of school systems if so
School systems have mechanisms for saving money over periods of time for projects like that that aren't necessarily talked about. They'll dedicate a certain percentage of the general budget to go into some sort of savings account thatll be listed in the budget by some innocuous title. But it's not a secret or anything, and you can always bring up the subject at public board meetings if you get on the agenda. Some school systems, though, do in fact have more funds than others. It's all about the local sales tax and the competency and foresight of the school board itself. Also, bonds are an excellent funding source to get new schools built when they just have to be.

People keep moving further south toward Montevallo and there just isn’t a great way or alternate to the interstate.

If you think you’re beating the long lines at the interstate there is Pelham Pkwy and it’s going to make you cry.

There's hardly any inside info worth having regarding football. We aren't getting any stud croots. We aren't plucking any stud asst corches from anyone. It's like hey be on the lookout for some 2* out of Wetumpka to commit. Or, hearing the LB corch at Daphne HS is gonna be an analyst. Thanks for the scoop.
This is why the Greg is going to continue to grow. Top notch posting once again, and this thread as a whole was well done.

That’s how we made it to the semis my junior year. Had two stud pitchers and we rode them all year. Until me played @Jake Crain’s Opelika team. Lost by 1 run both games. Had bases loaded in the 6th, down by one with no outs, and we couldn’t score a run. Still think about the dumb game every now and then
