OT: Bracketology

I kind of think it’s weird that people keep projecting A&M into the tourney. It’s like everyone just assumes they’re flip the switch again but they’ll be lucky to win half their remaining conference games

Jeff Sagarin is trash:

I'm not sure how much they weigh the predictive metrics vs the results based. Results based ones we're in the top 6 in all of them. Sag, Kenpom, BPI we're 20s and 30s. Oh well keep stacking those dubs.

You have to remember how good they were early one. But I agree with you, Im not sure they can get back there.

But they have some really nice OOC wins, most on a neutral site, including a 23 point win over WVU (in Germany).

But they have the talent to turn it around (when fully healthy).

Their resume is still tourney/ bubble range right now. They go on the road and beat Kansas in a couple weeks they could probably go 7-11 in conference and still get in.

Boogs now at #8 in Kenpom.

If boogs can go 7-3 or better down the stretch, they are in an excellent position to end up as a 3 seed or higher. Challenging schedule ahead, but I believe our handsome studs can do it.

if you had told me a year ago we'd be a 3 seed in the big dance with no Wiley I'd have punched you and your mother in the face and pooped my pants.

Here are the updated team sheets through the weekend's games. MASH HERE

Auburn still 4-2 in Q1 games. Virginia is 7-1, Villanova 9-1, Xavier 5-3 and Clemson 5-4 in Q1 games. I didn't look past Auburn, which is #5 in RPI, so I have no idea what mid-tier programs like Duke, Kansas, Arizona, Michigan State or Kentucky are doing. Boogs need Ole Miss to play well down the stretch, and really needs to win 6 or more of the last 8 if it wants to dramatically improve its Q1 resume and have a chance for a #1 seed. Sagarin still has AU #20, which is quite the indictment of its garbage rankings.

The seclection committee will release their top 16, seeded 1-4 in each region, on Saturday.
Even though they release that, it’s still subject to change depending on how the rest of the season plays out, correct? And then doesn’t change regardless of conference tournaments? Correct?

Yeah, it’s kinda like the first CFP rankings. If the tournament started Saturday, that would be the way teams would be seeded.

With Nova losing, do the Boogs jump to a #1 seed?
As long as we don't sht the bed @SCar on Saturday, we should. But I'm not so sure that's in our best interest though, the 1 seed I mean. Although it'll do my little boogin heart good to see that amount of respect.

I wonder if there's a scenario where they put UVA in the East and then we can be a 1 seed in the South. UVA is kind of in the middle there not much diff for them.

I think if we're the second 1 seed and UVA is the top 1 seed, we could get ATL and them get the East. Logistically, it would make sense.
