As always shame on whoever voted ND in this game. It's like watching a junior varsity team vs an nfl team.
No 4 seed was beating bama so they went for ratings, idk how you ever vote ND back into this game if they lose by more than a TD today.
The only way ND should be in the playoffs is if they had beaten Clemson. How do you put them in after they got beat by Clemson knowing the teams they played this season? A&M got royally screwed
not mad about A&M getting screwed, still view them as outsiders and tbh I do not care for A&M both culturally and when we play them. They're weird. I kinda root for them to get screwed like I root for UGA to get screwed, just don't want those teams winning ships.
IMO it should've been Bams v OSU and A&M v Clemson. I think those would've been better games. Now OSU and Clemson may very well be a good one.

^^^this and the fact that Clemson had pushed into full "program" mode while Gus was trying to figure out where he wanted his offense to go. How Gus fails to build off the success of a national champ and another trip to the big game is just unforgivable. Auburn spins its wheels while Clemson, Bama and UGA go all in.

idk who the options were, and who would’ve built a real program, but had we hired a real coach when we hired Chiz and somehow still ended up with CAM - it was there for the taking... even if nothing changed with BAMA, it was all there for the taking

Fields is a stretch but in this alternate reality we’ve been putting breathtaking dual threat QB’s in the league since he was in elementary school, so...

Yeah Deshaun and Fields were on CAM’s personal 7v7 squad or whatever. Surely that’s an in a decent corch could take advantage of. But we had announced to the world Jeramy Johnson was a future #1 pick and then by the time Fields came around no legitimate QB prospect would consider us. Although, not like UGA has anything to sell a QB. Hey young man our coach isn’t Gus play here that probably about did it.
I firmly believe that Gus’ ego would not let the QB be the face of the program. I think he justified it to himself from a place of trying to keep the pressure down but I think he wanted the QB to be the PS controller and he would think for them, call the plays for them and blame them for poor execution.

Well well looks like 13 Buckeyes missing the Ship & wondering if they turn to the soccer whatever to field a kicker. With their QB being less than 100% reminds me of the 2009 BCSCG when the winningest QB in NCAA history went down the first series. Bams getting off pretty light again.
Twas over the minute ua went up 14 in the first half. Just boring to see blow outs all the time.
NCAA has to know this is horrible for college football, bama wins half the championships because they didn't have the nuts to do something when they could.
It is Ground Hog Day. Same 5-6 programs get in. They get recruiting advantage. Better players help them stay on top. Rinse repeat. The only way things go back to competitive is:
1. Reduce scholarships.
2. Expand the playoffs
3. Limit size of staff

bruh I HOPE they don't limit staff size, we are JUST now taking advantage of that. If you're paying attention, Auburn is basically adding an entire SECTION of the AD dedicated to football recruiting. We might have a real chance to compete in a few years. Auburn needs to win TWO championships in the next 8 years to really start to hammer bama and I truly believe it's possible.

Yeah was really pulling for that Cinderella story with either Notre Dame or Ohio St. Alas, was not to be as Bama barely survived a couple thrillers in the playoff.
Honestly, if we had just hired a real coach after Chiz we probably have a chance to be one of the elite programs in college football right now. I don't know if we have any of the 2013 magic without Gus, but even still the program had very good OL and DL and a good coach with good recruiters could have kept that train rolling.

Thought exercise. If Bama missed on Saban and the Boogs miraculously hired him after Tubs, how many championships would he have won in Boogville, and any chance he'd still be there? Surely he would have won big, but no way he'd still be there with the Boog boosters doing their thing, the REC playing defense or NFL calling again, right?
After his first year losing to La Monroe Auburn would have fired him and paid him 21 mil for his buyout.
bama had the exact same booster problem saban just put an end to it, kinda like adag is doing now.
