OT: Kam Martin

Averaged 6.3 yards per carry this season and 18.7 yards per reception.

Stepped up early and showed out. Can’t remember who we were playing but it was the Saturday after the Houston floods. His parents were so appreciative of how the boogs took care of them. Wonder if they are sick now? I would be.

We gonna trot Miller or Asa Martin out there? Because Barrett isn’t a 20 carry guy if K-Mart isn’t.
We'll see what Barrett looks like after a full offseason in the S&C program, but he's already bigger than martin and has a bigger frame too. My guess is he'll be 200 plus by september. No chance baby Kam is the feature back next year

Martin could have been a great DB IMO.

He has a great burst but cannot break a tackle for anything. He is DOA on contact basically.

He should have gotten third down reps if we didn’t run a derp offense.

If KJ goes pro and KP is gone too, Asa or a grad transfer is the best chance we have at a 20+ carry RB. Miller fumbles too much in practice so the coaches don’t trust him. KMart and Barrett are too small IMO to be every down RBs. The dark horse is Boobie Whitlow. I’m interested in seeing how he looks at A-Day. Don’t know how easily he can make the transition, but I think he has the size and the athleticism.

I'll give you a zero percent chance that there'll be a grad transfer RB next year. Barrett isn't too small either. You guys are nuts.

On the official roster K-Mart is 5-10 182 and Barrett is 6-0 185. I know those aren’t official numbers as of this moment, but there’s no way there’s more than 10 lbs difference between the two.

I agree on Barrett having the frame for an every down back. With Asa coming in, we will have (2) of those guys. I'm not buying the Boobie hype from the locals until i see it against real competition.

I know I’m screaming into a void but I really like Malik Miller.

Barrett is an every down back IMO

Wouldn't shock me at all to see us go after a grad transfer if KJ goes pro (which I don't think he does).

I think KJ's decision well decide whether or not we go after a grad transfer or offer K Smoke, IMO.

But as I said the day he signed, I think Boobie Whitlow has a chance to be a superstar that fits the size and speed we a want in a RB (6'0 220ish).

Good call on Whitlow if it happens. Hard to see a HS QB and DB as a superstar RB on signing day.

Harold Joiner (4* RB from Mountain Brook) has apparently fallen in our laps because LSU no longer has a spot for him. Kid is 6’3 215. Yes please, I will take your scraps. Thanks Ogre.

Would much rather have Smoke. Don't get caught up in the "stars" on this one.

There is a reason everyone is not holding a spot for him.

Taking another RB. Cox crying with KJ after the game. All signs point to everyone knows KJ is leaving and Rice welching on a 250 dollar bet

To be fair, we have not given him a committable offer yet and it is said we may not have room. Depends on what Kam/KJ do.

Hell yes Auburn is built on 4* scraps. Kinda has a TE/HB physique.
There was also talk on a grad transfer from somewhere at one point.. I think he was another 200 Lber from maybe Baylor?

Edit: found him. Terence Williams. 6’1 220 from Baylor. Rushed for 1100 and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2016, but was injured most of 2017.

We need a GT if KJ and KP leaves. I like Joiner's size, but we need more immediate help at RB. I'd rather save the spot for a GT like Williams or the kid from Va Tech.

But we also need to fix the fvcking OL or it won't really matter who is running the ball or picking up blitzes at RB.

The inconsistency just blows my mind. this is the same line that dominated the UGA and Bama dline during the regular season, but then got dominated by UCF's dline.

in a sane world, we could probably do RB by committee and be pretty solid there. But we won't because Gus can't. Gus needs a horse to ride to it's death. He won't be able to develop a system where we use guys like Boobie/Miller/Barrett and Martin together to get the best out of each and stress defenses. He only knows the "give this guy 30 touches and try to keep the rest from doing too much" system. Since it worked with Tre Mason he's convinced it will always work. It's never going to end.

TBH if Stidham doesn’t come back, I won’t be too upset. Not because I don’t think Stidham is good or anything to do with him. I really like him as a QB. I just don’t think the system fits him, and I don’t think we will ever adapt to enough to fit him. IMO the passing game (and pass protection) still isn’t good enough to give him a chance when the run game just isn’t working. He threw for 331 yards yesterday, but I never felt confident that our passing game was going to win that game for us.

I think it took 12 plays before they threw the ball past the line of scrimmage, all this talent at WR and the HC & OC wont use it...same ole jet sweep, bubble screen crap.

What else is new in boogville. We have the studs, but our faliures are all on our offensive staffs shoulders. Until we have a competent passing game plan and someone other than 78 at OT we will not be worth a shat throwing the ball. Why we can’t use a TE, crossing routes and RB screen game is beyond anything I can comprehend. Studham is not the problem. I am giving up on ever winning consistently against good competition until we have a true dual threat QB running the read option attack. That is all we are good for.

That said, I was super depressed with our defensive intensity along the line of scrimmage. We looked slow and flat. UCF is a really good football team, but we looked like we left our studs on the bus. Hope we are happy with being a solid 3rd/4th place SEC team going forward. We are now officially being left choking on bama and uga’s dust. Next year I see a 10-3 type of season. Lose to bama and uga, then lose another new years day bowl to a better coached team.

looking at their tape i think i'd got with Joiner over Smoke. Think the contrast works better with Asa Martin. What level ball do each play in?

also like joiner's frame, just imagine hime playing at 250ish...
