OT: official UT v KY game thread

Man, Kentucky is really challenged offensively. They’re solid defensively and their length is a problem for teams, but it’s hard for me to understand how a team of Kentucky’s magnitude doesn’t have at least 2 lights out shooters.
who's the chaulky on the court for UT...kid moves like something that doesn't move well (at all)

Ugly ugly ugly. Amazing that Kentucky doesn’t have any scorers. They’re all so woeful with the ball

• these teams look awful. Not sure if they're just play'n tight/they just suck bawlz.

and somehow people refuse to call him on it while still hating Cal, who has been the most upfront and honest about the whole charade

Cal is sometimes too loyal to his guys. Barbee sucks
He could’ve hired most any assistant in the country when he hired CTB back. They may share a secret or three.
That very well could be. Though in his time at UK, I think Cal had been fairly clean. That school stays under the magnifying glass, and most media dislikes Cal, for various reasons. But I do think every program is dirty. It's just to what degree.
Maybe the UK guys posting here can help me with this. How do y'all not sign an ELITE shooter every year? Last year you had Monk, but it doesn't seem like you guys have recently had many elite SGs. It seems to be the only thing missing from the roster, but I just don't remember many elite SGs coming through Kentucky recently, other than Monk.
And it doesn't have to be the one-and-done type. Someone that's a 4-year guy that can fill it up from 3. You have everything else. Size, length, athleticism.

Devin Booker and Jamal Murray were there before Monk... Booker didn’t start, he was playing behind the trash Harrison twins, but he played similar minutes
I’m curious to hear any of their thoughts about this team specifically though and who they missed on and what they see for next year
I think part of their trouble is just that; athletic. No real abilities, just athleticism. UK seems to get caught up in athleticism. That, and their frontcourt is weak. No bangers. Just guys with NBA draft measurables. Diallo has an insane vertical, but what good is it? He doesn't know how to use it. Look at Larry Bird. I would say he was very unathletic. But his other attributes far outweighed that.
Trey Young was a UK lock at one time but signing Quade Green burnt that bridge. Jerml Baker is a kid who was the consensus shooter but injured his knee just before the season. Most figured Knox would step out and play some at the 2 and he does have the stroke but not the speed and up to this point the grit to consistently pull down and drive.
Hamidou Diallo is having a rough go of it. Some things that are holding UK back is a tendency to not want to share the basketball, maintaining good spacing on the floor and talking, they don't chirp enough.
I see everyone back next year minus Knox and Diallo who is nowhere near ready but will wind up overseas.
