It's so crazy LSU hired Ed O. I don't see how the first 3 make it another year. Sumlin seems the most likely to get canned in season and they have the bucks to not sweat buyout money.
Yeah. The Ed O hire was so baffling. It's like they missed out on Tom Herman and Jimbo so they just gave up and hired the worst possible candidate.

The coaching talent in this league is abhorrent. Some of the best coaching is at the worst programs, but overall the league is an embarrassment and will continue to be until programs sack up and hire some damn ballers.

Florida: Jim McElwain, UF? You are the University of Florida football. Act like it.

AU: OJT Zahn mentally collapsed under the weight of the job years ago. His farewell tour is proving to be an insult to the great game of football.

UTk: Something went wrong in the interview process. There has to be a mechanism in place to screen out Life Champions.

TAMU: Can't fault them for Sumlin. Dude can suck up to teens with the best of em, but too many self-inflicted wounds. Time to go big and bring CHIP to College Station.

LSU: Ogre. FFS, LSU...

They fired a guy who had a .780 winning percentage, and if not for 5 acts of God, multiple Natty's, for a guy that is about as qualified to be a P5 HC as Coarch Rice. Of course that guy lost to Gus so who am I to argue?

I really don't know what to think about that guy other than he's a great, relentless self promoter.
I read his book back in 2006 or 2007 about visiting every SEC stadium in one season. I remember me and my brother then reading some of his articles on CBS after that. He was almost a nobody then. Crazy how much he's blown up in the last 10 years

I voted for "dude from Missouri", because a) they're turrible, and 2) he's so turrible we don't even know his name. But seriously, if they lose another game in embarrassing fashion, I could see Sumlin getting the mid-season axe. Ed O is safe this year. The rest may not survive the off season, depending on how they finish.

But let's be honest here, where are the replacements gonna come from? Nobody wants to leave a place with a legit shot to make the playoffs to come try and recruit against saban, and the group of 5 guys are a crap shoot, at best. Les Miles is the only proven winner out there, and he fizzled his last couple of years at lsu.

I'm guessing Chip Kelly, that Brohm guy, and Chad Morris all coach in the SEC next year

It's Sumlin if we're playing the odds here. He could lose the next 5 before we see him and I wouldn't be totally shocked. If they can't get a W vs Arkansas they are in big trouble. South Carolina will have a great plan to slow them down and then they play bama. His offense is a mess and he's still got a terrible defense so what's gonna bail him out and get him W's?

As negative as I am on the Boog Board, I think Gus probably has a decent enough middle of this season to survive till after we get blown out by UGA and bama. Stidham actually did progress on some things. We did throw the ball around more and while I still think the route combos mostly suck, there were some improvements. I think we'll beat Mizzou badly and I wouldn't be shocked if we beat either MSU or LSU. We'll beat Ole Miss. Probably even win on the road at Arkansas. So Gus won't get fired during the season with those level of results. It's gonna be at the hands of curb-stomping from Kirby and Saban that get him bounced.

This we have a D. We are basically LSU the last few years. All D and dysfunctional O

Yep, except I like our QB better than any of the QB's they've had lately. So if we find a way to get just not atrocious play calling/coaching we should be a 9-3 type team. To tell you how much I believe we can do that I'm sticking with 8-4.
Yeah, the Lsu comparison kind of works, but this OL that AU has could lose them games. And now with no QB depth, things could get really dicey quick

I'm seeing 7-5 for the boogs. Even 8-4 would hopefully get these idiots runoft. This O is an absolute disaster and the corches have no answers. As good as this D is I don't anticipate them holding everyone under 20 all year.
If they can stay injury free, I'll still stick to 9-3 for the boogs. I just think the schedule is garbage

If the game is even close this weekend up in Columbia, then I think that this team is destined for some 2008 level garbage. Keep it close in a bunch of games because the defense is legit, but can't score enough points to win... and then ultimately get curb stomped by Saban & co bad enough whereas no matter what else has happened Gus won't survive.

I mean Gus Lindsey's offense and the regression of the OL sure does remind me a little of the Tony Franklin's tenure thus far.

Seems to me they spent all their time working on the passing game. Now we can't run it and this rinky dink Chip passing game doesn't work in the big leagues. Particularly with subpar pass pro. Pettway beatup. I guess Gus could stumble into some lineup upgrades but it's all looking like a disaster.

I don't understand how guys are so terrible in pass protection. Gus/Herb are just flat out terrible at their jobs. Kodi is too. I'm guessing Tim Horton is horrible as well but it's hard to fugg up being a RB coach

The O staff is just a disaster. Collection of bumbling idiots with no business corching D1 ball.
I think Horton is fine but if you got him to talk off the record he'd tell you Gus is a mess and our practices are a complete waste of time. I believe Boom demanded control over the defensive practice bc he had concerns that doing things Gus's way would not work.

Looking like. Itch is clear favorite here gang, as predicted by OP. Coach O making a strong push for second though with his showings the past few weeks

I am absolutely shocked that this guy hasn't been able to build an SEC powerhouse.

Getting fired after three years is rare, especially when you went to your conference title the first two. Something weird going on there. Probably having a new AD has changed things
They’ve had more major suspensions this year than they’ve really ever had. Plus it sounds like he made up the death threat stuff. Don’t know if any of that gives the University to fire him with cause though
