OT: Somebody invite this dude to The GREG...

We don't get butthurt and lock threads with superior content. In fact, we embrace it. You can hang with us anytime @secfans...

I've spent all night trying to figure out that dang spreadsheet they have so I can replicate it. Some of the numbers I just can't figure out how they got them

Their model is insanely accurate. Went 5-0 last week.

Looking forward to all their predictions for this week. So far their model predicts about a 27 point win for the boogs this week

Not "homers" we just defend our position with actual results on the field, instead of complaining about things like cold weather, ESPN "bias," or that Auburn hasn't played a road night game west of the Mississippi during a rainstorm on a Tuesday in the last 30 years.

Inside the Greg joke bruh. You are good. Enjoyed the video and glad you are here.

Why did your thread on the boog board get locked?

I was told that the thread had become an 'infomercial' for my youtube channel. I thought it was just good football talk that was driving decent traffic within the Bunker. But I guess it was against a rule/rules. I'm all about the freedom of a business owner to protect his or her interests - so I have no hard feelings for them canning the thread if they felt it a problem for them.

Such is life.

you shouldn't have come in so hot and told everyone you owned the site/youtube channel. Request a name change from rivals and keep posting them.

@Jay G. Tate is a douche.

Meh, I'm not interested in astro turf spamming. If they don't want my stuff there, they won't want it there whether I'm posting it or someone else is.

We'll get found. I honestly wasn't there to push views, but rather for the discussion of the model.

I'm a software engineer by trade. And I understand the importance of intellectual property and protecting what you've built. If they think we're in the same space (which we aren't), and don't want me earning visits on the back of their network, I support their right to do it. But in the end, it just makes the Bunker 'less good' because it's one more actual good discussion that's not taking place there.

Hiya pals!

@secfans really like the info. Have you kept track of the model's record for predicting outcomes? And how long have you been running the model? I think you said around two years but wasn't sure.

Also, does the model take into account explosive plays and how that affects both offensive and defensive stats? I know you speak about per play averages in the run and pass game. Auburn's run game success has been the product of most meh plays with a few really long runs sprinkled in. Can that info be factored in to figure if a team is more susceptible to those types of plays?

I would love to see some analysis re: teams that require explosive plays to score versus those who can consistently move the ball utilizing more of the field.

Interesting that both of you ask, and rather timely as well. LSU is a team that has explosive plays, but is highly (highly is an understatement) inefficient in their scoring relative to yardage.

LSU had 7 yards per play against Troy and managed 21 points. That's unbelievably bad. (Auburn had 6.6 YPP against Mizzou and scored 1.2 billion points) We go into more detail in LSU/UF preview than we did in the Auburn one. Here it is if you're at all interested:

My name is Nay Nee. Nate and I'm a bigger cock sucker than Petet North.

You don't need the Boog Bored. All you need is GREG.

I have found a suitable avatar for you. James Madison is on the $5000 bill, which is appropriate, because that's what I intend to wager based on your predictions.

You're my new ecrush. I'm a football nerd. And a science nerd. I'm probably just a nerd, but I don't skip leg days so there's that.

The fact you don't have an avatar is fine by me. Tells me everything I need to know about you. You're really Josephine Skriver, crunching football numbers in between photo shoots. Software engineer...ha. Good one, Josephine.

I definitely skip leg day, that's how big a nerd I am.

Am I to infer, then, that you are THE Tom Selleck?

Do you make a prediction for every SEC game of the week or just a select few that y'all really feel good about?

We don't take into consideration whether or not we feel good about them, but rather which are the biggest games. We both have jobs, so we have a limited amount of time to record AND have to get them out on Monday - so we hit the high notes.

Now, having said that, we don't do national games for teams we haven't watched play extensively. We don't talk about teams we know little about. There are times when our predictions deviate from the model and we have to be able to speak to why. And fans of teams will find every single thing you said that's even slightly wrong so you HAVE to know their team well.

In awful weeks (like the upcoming week 8), we may even venture outside the SEC (we'll be doing USC/ND). Right now, Auburn, UGA, and Bama fan bases are fully engaged and driving views/traffic. But the LSU/UF game last week was a complete traffic and viewer engagement turd in the punch bowl.
