Looks like Gus and Herb had another fortuitous injury that allowed them to discover the best OL grouping. Thoughts? Will they keep Dunn at center and Golson at RT? Or will they go back to the original lineup with James at RT and Golson back at center?

James is just terrible. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if they'd just throw Cal Ashley out there at RT. Golston seems like he could be a serviceable RT at least.
Yes. My preseason OL prediction had Big Cal stepping into that role mid season but that looks like it's not gonna happen. Hopefully James doesn't come back. Golson is much better in pass pro than him

It's incredible how much time James spent at LT. Dude is a guard and a bad one.

I have no idea what these idiots are doing at practice but it obviously does nothing to reveal the best game talent or plays that work against quality defenses.

This is an underrated aspect of gus' terribleness. The offseason is where teams win games in the fall, and we clearly didn't get that memo to the genius. NCAA practice limitations emphasize the importance of practice time, so using half of that to teach kerryon how to play QB is beyond counterproductive. We have become numb to this nonsense but I guarantee this is historic, no team has ever paid someone so much to actually hurt the team. If he simply didn't show up to work we'd be 3-0.

Also, I like Casey Dunn so herb can GFH on that one

From what I've seen, our practices for offense mostly consist of soft toss drills to WR's running less than half speed and catching over their shoulder....pace drills where we just run the base play for 80 yards in 8 yard chunks vs walk ons....Some OL playing paddy-cake with each other in some group drills and the RB's jogging through strip drills. Results tell me that's basically what happens when fans aren't there too.

The reason we've typically peaked offensively midseason is because our best chances and improving are playing games. We aren't going to improve at all in the offseason. We might learn a playbook, that's about it. Season starts and we get some real life "live" reps vs other teams and some tape to work from. Since some of these guys on staff actually know some football they can then improve their groups play. But in Gus Practice Time, none of that is gonna happen.

We have to avoid offseason injuries because our coaches keep running good players off and we have no ability to consistently recruit any particular position.

Gus paranoia combined with just high school level BS practices. There is a reason the defense suddenly turned around when Muschamp demanded a certain amount of control over the defensive practices.
