OT: XFL is returning... seriously...

Just read some stuff about it. I feel like the ultra conservative, family friendly angle is a bit odd.

I feel like they should partner with Barstool sports or something and have those guys be the broadcasters.

I feel like that would be the vibe you wanna create

I don’t buy it. Unless they get a TV partner I don’t believe it. Vince is up to something

All that said, the raunchy stuff didn’t work at all last time. I went to the games, have documented it on the boog.

People just wanted decent football with good players.

No one watches the NFL anymore but I'll be damned if I watch butch chicks play football.

You think it’s a gimmick? I think it’s for real. I think he still really believes in the idea of another football league, and I also think he knows he didn’t really give the original xfl his best effort to succeed. Watch the documentary on it, the whole thing was cobbled together in no time. He’ll have that whole experience plus another two years of planning to get this one right and I think it’ll do way better than the original.

I also don’t think he’ll have any issues finding a broadcast partner.

The idea of reducing games to around 2 hrs though is definitely great in theory. I’m curious to see how they plan on doing it though. But 4hr games like they are now are exhausting and people are losing the attention spans to stay interested

I don’t think that they will have a problem finding broadcasting, I am saying I’ll take this idea more seriously when they get one. They announced the deal right along with NBC when they announced last time.

I had season tickets last time, and the biggest problem I saw was that the football just wasn’t good at all. With social media, better scouting, and a longer period of time to coach the players the league could educate the fans better and provide a better product.

Yeah. I think they’ll definitely focus more on the actual football this time rather than trying to manufacture story lines.

Crazy idea from me here, but I think they should try and get some crazy successful high school coaches to sign up as HCs. The football needs to be exciting and fun and they need to legitimately sell the both the coaches and players on the idea that the new xfl is a legit path to bigger opportunities

Part of the problem last time is that in a span of a few months they had to sign an entire team, train them, and coach them up. It was just bad. I remember watching the Bolts and there were quite a few decent talents out there, they just looked like a really bad college All-Star game, like the Blue-Gray game.

Tons of local Alabama/Auburn players. Jimmy Brumbaugh, James Willis, James Bostic, Jay Barker.
