He took a 3 score deficit in the last 5 minutes and was a catch away from winning the game. Impressive. Someone stated that he plays like Roethlisberger of Pittsburgh.

It was scary. Thorpe is your guy, but what a back-up. Had you brought Birdsong in early, JMU would have won. JMU cannot win a shootout with Thorpe as your QB.

Agree actually. Feel bad for Thorpe, but in the several games Birdsong has played, he has impressed.

Birdsong has been named the starting QB. Also reported that Thorpe has been playing with an injured trigger finger. Regardless, Birdsong is now at center.

I really hope that Birdsong does well under center and moves the offense forward.

Birdsong on his starting debut, did okay, not great, but did what needed to be done to win. He is going to be one heck of a QB. I am convinced that the problem wasn't so much the QB as it was the line play and the receiving core not being used to getting throws their way. Going to need to get back to the basics and teach line how to block better and to teach the receivers how to get open more often and catch the ball.

Really liked today's article on Birdsong 11-2-2012. I do think he was overly hyped last week vs GAST. I think he is going to slow down and play within himself. Looking forward to seeing how well he does today. I will not be watching the game live as I will be at the WBB Exhibition game, but will watch later. Should be fun.
