Who can run point behind Cooper tho? This is our problem this year... we don’t have any depth

We have to make room for another PG. regardless if it’s high school/JUCO/Grad transfer. We also have to land a big. I worry about guard depth because I don’t know if Flanny or Cambridge can ever become a go to scorer. That doesn’t appear to be their game.

I don't think Bruce is gonna sign another PG in this class. Guard depth is fine but I do feel the concern about a "go to" scorer other than Sharife. If the Boogs land Jalen Green, then that problem is solved. But if not, then I do firmly believe that Powell is gonna be a starter (and a volume scorer) if Green goes elswhere.

Ehh. Think its a bit cynical to think Turbo can’t turn into just a serviceable backup by next season. People were clamoring to replace Jvon this time last year and now he’s one of the best PGs in the league

I see no reason to panic over our 15-1 4th ranked HYGs. Yeah it’d be nice to still have Jared, Dr C and the clear cut best club in the land for a 2nd straight year but thems the breaks. The Dukes and Kentuckys and Kansas’s of the cbb world are still out there trying to keep up with the program Bruce has built. Maybe not so much UNC or UCLA. My minor concern from last night was Samir. Still have confidence based on his body of work this year but woof that was bad.

As far as next year yes we’ll need to add a couple pieces to have a top 10 club for the 4th straight season. Suspect we will. PG I’m pretty good with Sharife and Turbo backing him up. Could definitely use an elite SG and big.

Looks like Turbo has a loooong way to go to be ready for real minutes at PG. I know we struggle when JM is out right now. I can't imagine what next year will be like if Turbo is the back up.

He said he recruited him to replace bryce but has also said that he was a combo guard in HS and asking him to run the point this year was too much to ask. I personally think he said some of that stuff to protect him a bit and alleviate any pressure on him.

That's dreadful. The Gus crew on the bunker constantly tries to compare him to Bruce as a defense. It's a completely absurd comparison.

Day after a game like that one last night always feels like shit. Important thing to remember is that we looked horrible a number of times last year. Fingers cross this will not turn into a skid as it did last year early in SEC play. Beating UF this weekend would be huge, but thankfully after that, we have our easiest remaining 3 game stretch to right the ship. 18-2 going into the UK game at home is a place we would have all signed up for prior to the season. Let's hope its 19-1 instead.

Pump the brakes for a moment on that. Turbo is a talented player and Bruce is a phenomenal developer of talent. Who was our last guy who was a highly touted prospect and came in and was a complete bust? I can't recall anyone. I have to think he will be at least a serviceable backup combo guard next year.

The fact Bruce views him more as a 2 though certainly leaves open the possibility we try to find another PG. The problem there though is that what serviceable transfer or JUCO PG is going to want to come in to play behind a star like Sharife who will be playing 30+ minutes per game? J'Von was a rare find in that regard.
