**** Boogs v Norfolk St ****

the boog board could use some EA now more than ever... 90% of their game thread is BMatt typing play by play... 5 pages of him posting 25 times in a row before someone breaks the monotony with a frigid take
It’s the most embarrassing thing the mods do over there. No one wants a play by play post! Give a synopsis every 5-10 minutes of play.

its here gang. It’s finally here. BASKETBALL season has arrived. Everyday we have BRUCE as our corch is a blessing. I’m 50% sure he’ll be leading our studs this evening and I’ll be giving him a standing O from the living room before the game.

Hopefully everyone in Boogville in town to see us get humiliated once again by UGA will show support and get the CLAM rocking.

Prediction:
Boogs 102 - 74
Please tell me you didn’t edit the score prediction.

There’s a time stamp showing the edit if it happens. There is none here. DV provides EA for a reason. Poor Boog board is so deprived.
I do pity them. And I just wanted to revel in this one a bit more as we count down to the huthut contest.

And gang isn’t is refreshing how BRUCE uses garbage time to get his youngsters some confidence going forward and experiment with some different lineups that may benefit us later in the season?

My favorite lineup:

Harper
Brown
Heron
Murray
Anfernee

When Wiley and Purifoy come back:

Harper
Heron
Purifoy
Murray
Wiley

Coming off the bench:

Mitchell
Brown
Dunbar/chuma
Chuma/Spencer
Anfernee/Spencer

"If" those guys get back soon we'll be hell this year.

Yeah Murray really impressed me. And Bryce obviously.

Dunbar was the only big disappointment but he got a nice and 1 and a 3 late so hopefully he just needs a little experience and confidence. Still definitely looks like a role guy.

Credit to Bruce that two of the most unheralded recruits on the squad were the stars of the game last nice. Bryce and Mac are amazing
Bryce was fairly hoopla'ed when he signed but I think some of the excitement over the successive classes overshadowed him a good bit.

Na mang Bryce was committed to Charlotte until BRUCE charmed his ass off and gave him his only P5/major offer.
I am not talking about from a recruiting stars standpoint, I'm talking about what the EXPERTS on TOS's BB board and on the boog bored were saying. Bruce got a diamond in the rough but a lot of knowledgeable BASKETBALL posters were very excited about his game.

Yeah. He was sort of an afterthought. People were way more excited about New Williams in that class than Bryce
The average boog, I agree with you. However the EXPERTS that I wisely listen to when it comes to BASKETBALL felt New was a tad overrated and that Bryce was an excellent pickup.

Word. I think people expected more of him coming in than Mac.

I was probably most pumped about Murray last night. Bruh was banging for rebounds, diving on the floor for loose balls, and pump faking for baskets. Not to mention for getting called in fouls for being too physical.

Dunbar got better as the game went on.

Spencer still gets stupid fouls.

But most impressed about us not just settling for 3s. Much better ball movement on offense and lots of points inside the arc (I think we only hit 8 3s).

Yes. Bryce had the majority of his points from inside the arc. Dude is gonna be so legit if he keeps it up. Some really intelligent and impressive handles last night. Super excited that he and Mac have shown obvious development.

I think player development has been a criticism of Bruce, but those two guys clearly have gotten better. Spencer...meh

You think he’s still a liability with his handle? I think I’m the only one that watches him dribble and cringes each time. Maybe I’m being too critical, because he obviously does a lot of things well

You watch last night? Bryce was really impressive with the ball in his hands. Both his handle and his decision making

I was in and out on a phone so wasn’t watching extremely carefully. I was basing off last year, so he definitely could have been more improved and I didn’t notice it.

I wouldn’t feel great about him running the point but he looked incredible. I thought him and Davion looked about the same in their handle. Both so explosive they can make the slightest move toward the goal and the D is on their heels. Never looked like they were in danger of getting picked.

Only difference was Bryce was brimming with confidence and would just explode to the goal while Davion would look to dish and guys weren’t on the same page.

with only 200 minutes a game to spread across the roster in the college game it’s tough to play more than 9-10 guys... so you’re never going to be 3 deep at a position and you’ll always need overlap between multiple positions to get guys enough minutes...

I say all of that to say, I think Bryce is about as good as we could reasonably hope for an emergency 3rd point guard... his handle can be shaky but he likes driving to setup other guys... he’s a willing playmaker, which, combined with his deep shooting makes him an adequate 3rd PG

fortunately, between Sweet Jared and Young Davion we’ve got 2 NCAA tourney caliber guys ahead of him

Wasn't Harper 3/3 from 3pt land? He played much more patiently last night than he did most of the time last season.
