*** BOOGS vs UGA ***

had to miss the 2nd half but saw Coop finished with 28pts and 12 assists. MY god the kid honestly could average a double double in sec play and that's not too much of an exaggeration.

Sharife now a tidy 1-11 from 3 now which bodes well for his return to boogville next season. So that's nice too. There was talk of him having J Harp range but that's clearly not the case. But I won't doubt the child at all. Just clutching pearls and hopign he comes back to lead the boogs to the final four next year.

sounds like a textbook summer in the dungeon with Steven to me

Been watching AU basketball for a long time, and having a hard time remembering someone that was this good so quickly
From a vision/assist perspective we have NEVER had anyone close to Sharife. Jared could push like Rife, and was a better shooter, but we could score 120 points if we get hot from 3 with Rife running things.

finally got my jaw off the floor

I can’t believe how good RIFE is. But I guess it shouldn’t really be that surprising. Guards have always killed it under Bruce

KT
Canty (before he went wild)
Jared
Bryce
Samir
J’von
Powell
Heron was pretty much a guard

Sharife is easily the most talented of them all so it makes sense that he’s absolutely dominating

totally random and related to nothing. But I remember when this kid was visiting Auburn his junior season. Think he was a top 15ish recruit at the time and people (myself included) wanted him way more than Okoro. Fast Forward a few years, Bruce picks the right stud pony, this kid falls down the rankings and finds himself not even starting in his second year. And btw, not knocking on the kid. Hope he becomes a great player, but just thinking about how wild recruiting rankings and hype are.

we scored 95 and only shot 25% from 3

he’s so good... he’s so gdmfn good
What other player can make all of his teammates better, improve his teammates scoring averages, while dropping nearly 30 himself??

Freakin unreal...
Yeah we put up 95 his first couple games shooting like ass from 3. Without one of our best all around players and deadliest shooter in Boogie. Last night played with one of those fugged up Nike balls. The Sharife led HYGs just getting warmed up my gad.

Either just before the game, or a couple of minutes in, they showed Coopers numbers from the Bama game. The announcer said something like...” well do we expect 26 and 9 every night??, of course not”...guess he was dead ass on!

I think he was referring to the interview with Bruce after the bama when they asked Bruce about Rife.

He's everything Harper was from a ball handling, dribble-drive perspective plus a lot more. Harper had that crazy shooting range and could fill it up when he got hot, but Sharife's vision and passing are better IMO. They both read defenders so well coming off screens and can hesitate and blow by and draw fouls unlike any Auburn players I've ever seen. Both finish at the rim very well. And both are nails at the FT line. And that's comparing Sharife in two games to Harper at his best in his junior season. I know there's never been a better, more complete PG at Auburn than Harper or Sharife. And if we get more than 15 games with Sharife at Auburn and he even marginally improes his shooting, I think he'll be the greatest PG to ever play here when he leaves.

just for comparison. In three years, Harper never scored more than 27pts in an sec game. Sharife already has. Jared only has one double double in sec play in his career. Sharife already matched that. Sharife was one assist away from having more conference double doubles than harper had in his whole 3 year career and Cooper's obviosuly just played only 2 games.

same... I saw his soph and jr video and fell in love... I still remember him with longer dreads looking like a skinny Stanley McLover dunking on everyone in sight

that’s why BRUCE is BRUCE and I’m an internet shitposter

just to follow up even more. I remember being like "Why are we taking Flannigan's commitment when Christian Brown is still available" and obviously what a dummy I look like for that one too.

I honestly would cringe so hard and commit hari-kari if I was forced to read all my past crootin takes.

Which is just nuts to me how effective SC has been in two games. It's basically taken him two games to have as good or or better performances than Harper (who is the best PG in Auburn history) had in three years.

Aside from shooting, Sharife is already better than Jared his last season in almost every other facet. I knew he had a higher upside, but I never thought we'd see Sharife instantly be the best PG in Auburn history the moment he walked on the floor. He's going to obviously have to keep playing like this to take that mantle away from Jared, but right now it doesn't even look like they are really that close.

not to keep harping it up. But I guess I'm on a where are they now fix. I distinctly remember thinking this kid would be really good too. Had some boog interest and was crystal ball'd to the Boogs at one point I believe, and now he can't even get on the floor as a sophomore. Kid is very athletic so Tom Crean obviously has no ability to develop players

I will say I don't remember Jared ever shooting as much as Rife, but that could just be me misremembering.

you're right and by quite a clip. And looking at his stats, Harper wasn't nearly as ball dominant as I remember. Sharife (so far) dominates Harpers usage stats. I think that'll go down though when JP comes back. But Sharife's assist percentage is still outrageous compared to jareds and that's with them basically having the same turnover percentage.

I guess what it means is just let Sharife have the ball and he's either gonna score or set someone else up to.
