as much as I try to fight it...
and as much as everything since 2004 has slowly eroded away my enjoyment...
and as much as Gus’ terminal lunacy has shifted the ambivalence into overdrive...

I still can’t shake it completely... and when I walked outside Thursday morning and it was actually shockingly cool, it immediately felt like football weather... I assumed there would be high school games on tv this weekend, so now my dumbass is going to be watching some 16-17 year old future barners running around because I can’t help it

Helluva throw by Nix on that TD. Rolling to his right, drops a dime on a corner route.

He threw some beautiful balls on that drive. Prettiest one may have been the TD that was dropped.

He threw 5 incompletions on that drive. I think 4 were drops

That has to be frustrating. Get a big turnover. Throw 2 passes and have two drops

Just tuned in. Has Nix looked like the #1 QB in the country and ready to start as a freshman next year?

Hi long will someone like Niblett stay at Hoover? Gotta think that one day he’ll jump for the right gig in college.

I think being that young and successfully running what is essentially a small college program is so much more impressive than what someone like Tim Horton does

Little shaky in the 1st quarter but really good since then. Lots of dropped passes. WRs not very good

Biggest takeway - I can see why Pat Nix is no longer an OC in college football.

PV is also way overmatched.

Has he looked like the kind of difference maker we need to beat Bama/UGA and win championships?

Have heard mixed reviews from elsewhere and I noticed Pinson was getting smoked.

Figured Bo would be able to create a bit with his legs but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

His footwork seems to need significant improvement as well.

Oh, he isn't a finished product. No HS senior is.

Pinson getting smoked not because of Nix. Just way overmatched.

He has actually done a really good job extending plays with his legs (the thing the commentators have praised Nix the most about in this game) he had made a lot of great throws on the run. Has he made some bad throws? A few early on.

So you haven’t watched but you’re nitpicking on his footwork? Weird
I said I recently turned it on. Tuned in around halfway through quarter 3.

Solid accuracy at the end of the 3rd and beginning of the 4th. Saw he’s had several dropped passes, including a couple that would’ve been TDs.
@L I G E R can get weird at times on stuff like this. It's the one part of his bunkering that he couldnt leave behind
What stuff?

And if he need significant development, I’m not confident in Gus to get that out of him.

Who said significant development? And I haven't seen anyone say he needed sigificant developent.

Stuff like your 1st post in this thread and the ones that followed.

Hey guys, I've been too busy to watch and I'm genuinely interested in your opinions on how Nix is doing.

Okay. He.....

False. I have been watching and I just want to argue with you.

The other WR commit, Johnson, plays next.

Hoping his summer dominance is about to cross over to actual play in front of a national audience

Pinson isn’t in the same stratosphere as a program like Hoover. I thought Bo played well today considering they were playing a top 25 team nationally and one classification higher than them.

What's the low down on the Sr RB and Soph RB?

His footwork is fine. He needed bettter protection today.

Larry refuses to run a 40 for bama. Auburn is higher on other backs. I like Larry a lot.

Number 24(Devin) moved in from the Gump two years ago. I think he’ll be an SEC RB or LBer.

I would just feel better about Nix or any AU QB prospect if he/they went somewhere else for a year or two and then transferred to AU.

And this sunshiney spin is the part of bunkering you couldn't leave behind. Do you honestly believe you saw something in him today that can push us over the top?? Seriously?? You do realize we lost four games last year with a potential NFL 1st round guy at QB??

What sunshiney spin?

Did I guarantee he would beat Bama/UGA? He is the type/level of QB we need to beat UGA/Bama and compete for titles, IMO. And he showed that level of talent today

Other factors come into play to accomplish all the above.

Nick Marshall is a perfect example of this. QB matters, but it isn't all the matters (beat both one year and lost to both the next)

George and Haslewood said he’s the best QB in the country. Josh Niblett said on film he is flawless. Should we listen to players who play with him and real coaches, or shall we listen to assholes on the internet? I think I’ll go with college coaches who offer, coaches who broke down his film and players who play with him. I’m sure you know what the fvck your talking about though. Lol
