Ricky Parks, Jason Smith, this kid, kind of crazy how these situations don’t work out one way or another.
Try not to think about 04 and all the talking heads blaming us for scheduling Citadel. Also, definately forget that this is the second title Bama has won without winning their division or conference in the last 5 years.
Wouldn't matter as much if Gus recruited proper depth and we weren't so dependent on JuCo transfers.
true, but if the kid made his grades in hs he would have already been terrorizing the opposition for 2-3 years

I don’t think we’re gonna be dependent on this kid at all. He’s just someone that they thought was so good that we’ll still take him even if he goes to Juco. Our DL is still so legit without him

True. But I don’t think it’s also a foregone conclusion that both Brown and Davidson leave. Not sure Marlon is the first rd lock people think he is, but I could be wrong. Both Monty and Carl came back for their senior years, I kind of expect one of Brown or Marlon to stay but you never know

Everyone got way too befuddled after Thomas had those two picks in the IB. Kid was lost last season.
Don’t care what position he ends up playing but JFC don’t let this kid return kicks anymore. I bet he was a freshman but that’s no excuse for not following blockers and appearing to run with your eyes closed.
I am willing to let last year slide since Zahn’s self proclamation that he was involving himself in special teams.

I also agree that Daniel Thomas is terrible. Catch two INTs in an Iron Bowl and you get moved to stud status it seems

I do not miss reading the thoughts of non-EXPERTS at all.
My personal opinion is that you do not need guys who try to make people miss on kickoff return and that instead you need a straight line burner like Iggawhateverthe****hisnameis. The problem is that our special teams return game is FVCKING AWFUL. If ole Jay Boulware was still here we would return 2 or 3 a year at least with the speed we have. Hopefully Porter knows WTF he is doing.
I long for the days of Tre Mason starting most drives at the 40. Dude was a stud in all aspects.

Well you start 5 guards in the JB Grimes system so makes sense we need more depth there.
True but Prince Tega has proved to be a better OL than a DE. Wouldn’t surprise me if the kid winds up being decent at guard.

If Jeff holland, K.J and a few other that shouldn’t have entered the draft yet did....those guys are entering as well no matter what happens this year imo. I would get as far away from gus as well so I don’t blame them.

Hugh Nall made several good guards from DL who were a step slow for the position. Just remembering a few fun coversations with rice and aufamily something or other about our across the board depth on DL and my concerns that we don't have a solid foundation, just sporadic good recruiting years. Both of those guys used Manning as an example of great evaluation or some other nonsense and I, clearly being an EXPERT, mentioned this kid was not SEC DL caliber. Good times.
That was the thread that got me banded for asking him how his parents and wife haven't killed themselves. Gatdammit he's such a fuggin tool.
