We have 11 on scholly right now. 3 guys are guaranteed to leave. That leaves 8 left. Signing 5 dudes (as of now) so that fits perfectly. So even if no one declares for the draft, there’s enough space on the roster for all the signees
I was doing my math as we had all 13 spots filled. Good call

I’m partial to this photo of Tyrell but I understand they don’t want social media to hyperventilate:

now THATS a HYG... can’t wait til we get some ink across the chest - no need to touch the neck unless he just really feels it, plus I think that’s more of an upperclassman/early 20’s move - but a little something peaking out the top of the jersey just to say “hello”

today is the first step in my Davion recovery

We have three seniors on scholarship. Who are we expecting to not be back next year? I would imagine Harper stays. Would Mack go do something else? Wiley hasn't looked like a draft pick quite yet but that could easily change in SEC play.

plus - BRUCE has the roster to the point where we’re going to lose players unexpectedly at a high clip... Heron made sense - Davion was a shock, but realistically he’s overqualified to be a 3 year backup when I’m sure he arrived expecting to battle Jared for the starting spot and ultimately prevail... I mean as recently as last December I thought they were very even, but as it played out - he had to leave to get the opportunity he needs

no hard feelings - and the roster construction now should fit well enough that everyone can play the role they expect next year... but say Jamal Johnson is lights out in practice, Danjel and Jared come back, Okoro coming in, and a Shariffe or another 2020 HYG reclassify and all of a sudden minutes on the wing and backcourt are getting tight... could a guy like Samir unexpectedly grad transfer to play his final year?

I don’t expect that to happen - but no use planning too far ahead in b-ball... the great thing is, with BRUCE we really have no real need to worry about how it will play out - you can just trust he’ll figure it out

This is huge. I'm never going to be worried about roster managment

I love that his twitter handle is stretch4bball... simple and direct to the point

this is a man that isn’t about the unnecessary flashy trappings that come with being a HYG... he just wants to America and basketball, but then again, don’t we all?

we could all learn something from stretch4bball

Coffee coming through my nose isn't enjoyable, but it was worth it to read this post.

Maybe Mac grad trannys to an Ivy League school.

Did you know that he was accepted to MIT. If you didn't, he was accepted to MIT where he could've gone to school because he was accepted to MIT

I tell you, this is one impressive group of signees. The Bruce straight up owns the state of Georgia. And don't underrate Flanigan or the fact the Pearl went in Arkansas and pulled the number 1 guy out of that state. Arkansas has been a destination school for a while and especially so with in state kids. It's kinda like LSU in football imho. Huge pull!

someone give me the rubdown, this Okoro kid signed he's a top 50 player? I just need a summary report, player names, stars, and a quick overall thought about the class. TIA or I guess I can go to AL.com and read whatever their scrub writes.

I'm just happy we finally have all 13 schollies filled for a season with quality from top to bottom. There might be some raw guys from 10-13, but they will have talent. Just a few years ago, having to go to the 8th or 9th guy on the roster was a huge issue, and way worse if we had to go to 10-11. Next year, I'd feel pretty dang good about anyone of those 13 guys playing good minutes, which is a great feeling.

Yeah we saw in Maui 9 isn’t enough when guys get in foul trouble. Should be in pretty good shape once Danjel comes back but guys could get dinged up or god forbid Jared picks up a couple early fouls in a big game.

Should be in better shape depth wise going forward. 11 scholarship guys at least available would be ideal. Don’t mind using one on a tranny or holding one for the next class sometimes.

Yep. Really, players 11-13 should ideally be raw, emergency-type players who are learning and developing their games that first year behind veterans. Young guys who will sit a year behind veterans and learn. Have that strong 10-man rotation with 2-3 raw youngins learning the ropes. Rarely will we have blue-chip, first round NBA-level players as freshmen. IMO We need to build our rosters with Sophomores and Juniors. Build in a similar fashion to Villanova. Experienced upperclassmen who start backed up by young, talented kids who can learn. IMO that's how Bruce is building this team and that is what gives us the best chance to sustain success here.

I doubt we ever have a full 13 man roster available to play. Just seems like we’ll either always have a transfer sitting out or someone will unexpectedly leave and the spot can’t be filled.

I do think Bruce is finally getting to the point where he can stop dipping into the juco ranks. Which isn’t really a problem as a lot of those guys have worked out. But relying on jucos is not great for maintaining a steady roster

Looks like Bruce told this youngster he’s not boog caliber. Oh well best of luck to him.

sucks for the kid... sorry buddy, saving that last spot on the off chance Shariffe reclassifies, but best of luck to you... have fun using UGA to build drama for when you ultimately leave the state, but we won’t be getting involved in any of that nonsense

oh well, guess we’ll just focus our energy on Shariffe and the other 2 top 50 2-guards we’re chasing for next year... I hope BRUCE can survive

Didn't realize that this young man was Australian. Wonder how the hell he wound up in Alabama
