I'm not even watching a Gus press conference for $130. You'd have to pay me a lot more than that to attend this game. Although...we get beat too badly and the memory of being at Gus' last game could last a lifetime...I stuck it to them guys
h
We get destroyed and it all finally falls apart.
Can’t wait.
please don't ruin this thread responding to dumb troll posts. TIAI don't understand pulling for that this year. This happens, Gus isn't going anywhere, and we become Tennessee
If it all falls apart, either Gus will be fired, or he will be FORCED to rid our staff of the useless dead weight and legit assistants will be thrust upon him against his will.I don't understand pulling for that this year. This happens, Gus isn't going anywhere, and we become Tennessee

If he refuses to accept the changes in assistants, he resigns and doesn’t receive his buyout.
How would either of these options be bad for Auburn?
He doesn’t get to willingly resign and receive his buyout.Because neither will happen, especially the firing.
There is not an end game where he resign (other than for cause) and doesn't get his buyout.

If we can’t fire him, we make his life miserable.

I don't agree, but find it harder to argue against it. I really don't see AU spending the money to buyout Gus, but it's really only an additional $7M or so over what it'll inevitably cost to fire him after 2019. Offensive coaching staff buyout's probably around $750k-$1.25M. Call it a wash after the revenue you'd lose after a shit-tastic 2019 and get the city involved to charge all the hotels, restaurants, and downtown business a Gus tax. Charge them twice as much if they publicly supported Gus after 2015. Gods know they won't doing nearly as well if we "become Tennessee".Pulling hard for UT. Sorry gang. The more losses the better

The "bad" part is Gus is and would still be the HC
Everyone says they hate 11 am games, but they are great from the couch.thank zod for an 11 am kickoff finally... it’s nice to get my Gus experience out of the way early and then enjoy the afternoon and night
UT is worse than godawful... not even Gus can Gus this one up

If you're not being facetious, I agree. All parties were in the wrong and everyone needed a reset at that point. It actually should've been the first time Jacobs was fired, tbh. Let a real AD hire instead of Jay hiring Chizik. We might not have gotten Cam but the program is possibly in better shape? It was the right thing to do.
I was listening to The Rundown yesterday and was surprised that JGT said something to the effect that he could see a scenario where Gus got fired soon. Whether after this season or next. The buyout is a lump sum but then 4 yearly installments. If there's any type of offsetting language in his contract, then it really could be feasible. Fire him and then hope he gets another job soon and it wouldn't be that expensive.Just have to hate watch them now, folks. A W today just means Zahn will probably pull out 7-6 or 8-5 which is basically purgatory
@Docdumpsta keeps saying Gus will be so miserable after next year when everyone hates him that he’ll negotiate a reduced buyout and go somewhere else.I was listening to The Rundown yesterday and was surprised that JGT said something to the effect that he could see a scenario where Gus got fired soon. it'd be so awesome if he left and then still had to pay the 2 million he pledged for the new facility. But I could see him leaving because he doesn't feel appreciated if he had another job lined up@Docdumpsta keeps saying Gus will be so miserable after next year when everyone hates him that he’ll negotiate a reduced buyout and go somewhere else.
I ain’t buying it but maybe Gus is weird enough to do that. At least I can hope.
But yeah I think we owe him like $16 million right off the bat, and then installments. Which isn’t completely off the table, but we can’t keep doing this every 5 years or so to fired coaches
That’s probably our best case scenario. Maybe Vandy will open up next year and they will have some patience with himit'd be so awesome if he left and then still had to pay the 2 million he pledged for the new facility. Do you think he would get fired if he had back to back 5-7 years?
He’ll probably go somewhere like Louisville or Texas Tech, recommit himself to only using DTQBs, win a conference title, and we’ll all be like wtfThat’s probably our best case scenario. Maybe Vandy will open up next year and they will have some patience with him
