OT - 2018 NFL draft

Dane Brugler did a 7 round mock and he had:

40. Denver Broncos: Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn (6-1, 206, 4.44)
67. Indianapolis Colts: Braden Smith, OG, Auburn (6-6, 315, 5.20)
73. Miami Dolphins: Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn (5-11, 213, 4.52)
112. Cincinnati Bengals: Daniel Carlson, PK, Auburn (6-5, 213, 4.96)
118. Baltimore Ravens: Jeff Holland, DE/LB, Auburn (6-1, 249, 4.78)

I've seen some other 7 round mocks with other players like Roberts, Williams, etc. really late.

always fun to guess which 1st rd qb will inevitably be a huge bust.

I think rosen has the most talent but I just don't think he gives too much of a fugg about football to be a real winner. And every time I've watched Sam Darnold I've come away with an overwhelming sense of meh. I think Mayfield will wind up being pretty good. No idea about Josh Allen. Gonna be really interesting to me to see where Lamar Jackson goes. I feel like no one's been hyping him at all which is weird.

Pretty decent draft year for the Boogs. Next year though could be an all timer for the AU

I think all of the QBs including Jackson are gone in the first 15 picks.

I think its likely at least 2 bust. I think Mayfield is the one that is the first bust.

It's going to be a good draft for us. I think we sneak in another 5-7 type player and get 6 drafted.

Gonna be tough to surpass the 2005 draft

Yeah. I feel like we always have a couple of surprise guys that get drafted. I remember Blake Countess getting his name called and I was like wtf. Was surprised Holsey was drafted too. One of Roberts, Golson, or Tre Williams will get picked up late imo

I agree with all three possibilities

Pretty stout to have 2 of the top 5 safeties in the league. Will be interesting to see if either gets drafted though. I think Roberts should

I remember arguing with some of you about how much better we were at safety this year than years past. I will assume this proves my point and ignore any data that disproves my point.

I'm dubious about PFF's methodology for grading but I will take any positive vibes about our players I can get.

Their grading is fine, but it's all based on what happens on the field and not potential. So Robert Leff graded well because we ran the ball 80% of the time even though he had zero chance of becoming an NFL OT. His run blocking ability is why he has hung around the NFL even though he is a very average athlete.

Its based on their interpretation of what is happening based on the film and not what is supposed to happen. I don't understand how anybody that isn't the players coaches can grade a player.

I do think its a worthwhile thing, something that we didn't have 15 years ago. I think PFF does a good job with statistics.

Take that Arkansas, Kentucky, Miss St, South Carolina, and Vandy!
Kind of a sad stat but also kind of impressive. Boogs have two SEC championships and have played for a third in that time span, and they’ve only had 4 first rd picks.
