OT: HIV/ AIDS Thread

So why was Bruce mad about? Said him and someone on the bama bench got mad about something

One day you will understand JABA

Dude the first year I started going to see AU hoops, Pepto Bolden was playing. I knew what JABA was before JABA was a thing. We shit the bed in the second half. Very disappointing. Doesn’t change the fact that Bama was 2-8 on the road this year or some shit.

They did beat the eff out of UF at UF and we lost to UF.

I like Sexton damnit. We have had loads of injuries and players out etc etc. We had an AMAZING season given the circumstances. Pray that we keep Bruce through this FBI thing and we will be back even better next season. Hopefully we don't go out in the first round but if we do just making the tourney and making a splash this year was HUGE for auburn. Hard to be disappointed. With our actual players we would've smashed this tournament and made a deep run in the NCAA and I'm grateful for these guys, we get a lot of em back next year.

And? Are you really going to argue that Bama was bad on the road this year? I hate that we lost. It sucks. Feels like a huge choke job. I don’t know what else to say.

Feels worse because it was Bama, but we’re still dangerous enough to beat a lot of teams. Wish we could practice in the gym we play in for a week, because we just can’t get used to road gyms. Which isn’t a unique problem to have, but it is a problem right now
Yes LBS is real. Told y’all I didn’t want this game. Sexton is so damn nasty we won’t see anyone like him in the tourney thank god. The panic and ice cold shooting concern me though.

Without knowing what happened, it seems like every time Heron is THE GUY going into the game, this shit happens.

However, Bama was looking for blood today. We look physically and emotionally gassed. I imagine the actual tournament will be similar to this, once we play a real team.

We are not physically and emotionally gassed. We've had a week off. We just missed FT's and shot like a bag of dicks in the 2nd half.

We actually moved the ball well and got a ton of wide open shots and we missed almost all of them.

Man, we haven’t played well away from AU in a while. Not good for the tournament.
Being objective, we haven't played really well, at least not like we were before, since McLemore went down. Booging has been somewhat rare since then.

I gotta admit this loss hurts me, gang. But it is very encouraging that BRUCE has elevated our program to the point where losing in the quarterfinals of the SECT after winning the regular season title feels disappointing. Good things lie ahead for AU hoops.

Here are your 3-5 seeds last year with first round locations:

3 Seeds:
Baylor - Tulsa (350 miles)
Oregon - Sacramento (475)
UCLA - Sacramento (375)
Florida State - Orlando (260)

4 Seeds:
Florida - Orlando (115)
Purdue - Milwaukee (220)
Butler - Milwaukee (275)
West Virginia - Buffalo (285)

5 Seeds:
Virginia - Orlando (815)
Iowa State - Milwaukee (355)
Minnesota - Milwaukee (335)
Notre Dame - Buffalo (450)

Auburn to Nashville is 300 miles. To Charlotte is 350. And to Dallas is 700. I say we are a 4 seed in Nashville or Charlotte.

We were also playing terrible the half that McLemore was out there. It has hurt us defensively for sure, though. Offensively I think our shooting is regressing to the mean somewhat. We were so good at it for a while we got used to it.

I agree with @Gran_Polla that an early exit in the tourney seems more likely now than ever, but I still think when we're on, we can beat most teams.

Yeah the new standard of winning the SEC without 3 of our best players has been a welcome change. Still sour about today and will be sour if we lose sometime next week but it’s ridic what this squad has done.

6 or so days off didn't treat us well before this game
One game over a two week stretch should help. I also expect Bruce will have some more physical practices this week to keep them sharp. Bruce himself said only bad outcome this week was losing in the finals. Looked like boogs didn't give a damn today. I expect the intensity level will be a notch higher next week.

Hopefully they toggle it around a bit to satisfy as many top seeds as possible. Like UVA isn’t much closer to Charlotte than Pitt. I’ve seen Xavier/ Cinci in Nashville but they are about the same distance to other cities. Would they really put UT right there in Nashville? I’m not feeling good about getting either after today though.

My guess is UT will be a 3, so they could put UT and Auburn in Nashville because boogs would be part of the 4-5 line.

From the NCAA's website:

"Teams will remain in or as close to their areas of natural interest as possible. A team moved out of its natural area will be placed in the next closest region to the extent possible. If two teams from the same natural region are in contention for the same bracket position, the team ranked higher in the seed list shall remain in its natural region."

Based on this and the seeding from last year, it seems unlikely we will be shipped out West. Maybe to Dallas, but that's probably as far away as we'll be.

Uh, that was all Bruce
Nah. Dude was inside the restricted area.

Gotta be a back story there. Bruce seems mildly rustled.
Well AJ has taken cheap shots at us in the past. Bruce probably needed to let that go but he was clearly looking down and that guy saw him coming and made no attempt to move.

Sure would've like to have a second half like that first half but we've only got 8 so I'm glad none of them got hurt.
