Auburn deleted its tweet welcoming JB.
Maybe we just Greg Schiano’d the hire

Not to mention his only big time player turned out to be one of the worst busts in NFL history.Where is the narrative coming from that he was an awesome technique coach? Would’ve loved to have seen his sack numbers with Stidham and not Nick Marshall to bail him out
I love yore optimism.8-5.
The truth is every program has gotten better since last year except maybe MSU/LSU. We will be lucky to get to 8 wins going forward. Just wait til our DL leaves after this upcoming season.I love yore optimism.

Yeah, why would ANYONE be negative about a guy who couldn’t build off of the ridiculous talent pool he inherited in 2013 to leave us with a patchwork group and desperately searching for grad transfers? And that was before we had to contend with Kirby on the trail at UGA.I’m not close to as negative as most appear to be on this but for a coach that seemingly lobbied for more money for assistants this is underwhelming.

He literally didn’t sign an SEC-caliber OT for 3 consecutive cycles, which is simply inexcusable. I mean, that’s almost “sue for breach of contract” worthy for an SEC OL coach. He’s not just a “zero” on the trail. He’s an actual liability. He HURTS our recruiting efforts.
JBG damn near cost Gus his job once previously and now he’s back to ruin our future once again.
This is the very worst hire we could’ve possibly made and our program’s outlook for the future just became considerably worse. He is simply an abysmal hire.
He was an AU legacy, correct?Y’all member when that elite stud fell in his lap and he slow played him? Now a Bama AA and future first rounder. Good times.
I want Herb back
This made me lol in the office, and then I got very excited.Auburn deleted its tweet welcoming JB.

This would not shock me at all. In terms of personality and being a guy you’d enjoy having a few beers with JB would be by far the first choice of anyone from our offensive staff. Seriously, put them all in a bar for a couple of hours and old man Grimes would have more game than the rest. This doesn't mean he disliked Rhett obviously...but he would give anyone a little bit of hell and needle them when they needed to be dropped down a notch or two.I thought this was funny. Biggest insiders (imo) on 247 said this about Grimes (he did not say whether or not he was hired)
Edapes:
He absolutely called Rhett Zoolander while at Auburn and mocked him openly in 2015 to his unit

According to JGT, he was ready to commit ASAP.Y’all member when that elite stud fell in his lap and he slow played him? Now a Bama AA and future first rounder. Good times.
Who we talking about here? I’m not a crootin expert.According to JGT, he was ready to commit ASAP.
JB didn’t care
Jonah Williams, Bama’s starting LT who started for them as a True Freshman last yearWho we talking about here? I’m not a crootin expert.
Yet he was on staff with him last year?I thought this was funny. Biggest insiders (imo) on 247 said this about Grimes (he did not say whether or not he was hired)

This is what gets me the most. They were reportedly ready to throw the moon at Dell Mcghee and make him the highest paid position coach out there, and now he goes and hires a retread that he's already fired. So bizarre. I really don't get it.but for a coach that seemingly lobbied for more money for assistants this is underwhelming.
Corching is ‘crooting in this league and he’s embarrassingly bad at ‘crooting, so...This would not shock me at all. I like JB. I just hate him at Auburn especially under this HC because of what it means big picture. It's a terrible hire not because he can't coach, but because we desperately need an elite offensive recruiter, which he is not and he will not get elite talent by himself.
Gus'd
Well, your problem there is that JGT is wrong more than he’s right.According to JGT, he was ready to commit ASAP.
JB didn’t care
yup, his mom graduated form AUHe was an AU legacy, correct?
LOL, Nick Marshall bruh. The run game did flourish when JB was here so hopefully that will be better than the shit show we saw more often than not while Herb was at the helm. Stidham better buy more insurance.
Jeff Grimes also left him some crazy good offensive line talent to work with. Greg Robinson, Shon Coleman, Reese Dismukes, Avery Young, and (gasp) even Chad Slade are all probably better than what's currently on the roster. The run game did flourish when JB was here so hopefully that will be better than the shit show we saw more often than not while Herb was at the helm. whatev...run game started to suck wind when we started moving away from the zone blocking schemes, there was no reason in the world that our line shouldn't have opened up huge holes for the RB's .LOL, Nick Marshall bruh.
Other than being under talented and poorly coached I'd have to agree.whatev...run game started to suck wind when we started moving away from the zone blocking schemes, there was no reason in the world that our line shouldn't have opened up huge holes for the RB's .
not saying he didn't have good pieces to work with, saying he got results with what he had.Jeff Grimes also left him some crazy good offensive line talent to work with. Cal Ashley and Prince Tega could be really good though
