I just said you suck sometimes. Hell, even I suck 1-2 days out of the year. It's not an indictment of your e-persona.
I'm the opposite. I used to be fairly optimistic until I started reading more and keeping up with the team more, and now I'm pessimistic. Or maybe it's just Gus

I can definitely understand that.. Gus sucks. I’m optimistic on here because I just want to believe that things can’t be as bad as they really are but the reality is that they are. I know I have been critical of the negativity because I think sometimes it’s misguided but I know sometimes it’s spot on. I realize it but feel the need to argue because I can’t believe Gus has destroyed AU to the point of negativity infiltration.
The biggest red flag/issue for me this season is the constant scrutiny of Gus being involved in the play calling. I think it’s pretty obvious at this point that if Gus is answering questions weekly about his involvement in the offense in a negative way that is the sign that you are no longer a good coach.. we are basically asking for him to stay out! Lol.. can you imagine Saban being asked to stay out of a game plan or play calling?!? It’s asinine! Gus has destroyed all credibility as a coach.
They (our tigers) are bad and will continue to be bad because that mass majority of fans just want to go to a game and have fun. I envy them. Wished that was all there was to it for me.

Something happened- well, the game- that made me ill coupled with the past trips over there since 1985- our last win in Athens. Sitting in a sea of humpers did not help.

Haha.. Thanks! I am from Pensacola, and just moved back here from a short stint in North Carolina. I have two youngens so we wanted to be back closer to family. Glad to visit with you all on this board. Seems like a good place to visit with some good guys.

You know I was thinking about this... I want to propose a caveat my Athlon post. Not to rehash the past, but the post was primarily made to highlight that the concerns of the OL, which dominated the summer conversation, was possibly not as bad because outside perspectives did not seem to be as concerned. Clearly, the OL has been a mess and same for Stidham and the WRs.
I will say though, that projections for the OL were based off the following OL starting rotation: James, Harrell, Golson, Bell, Smith or Golson, James, Dunn, Bell, Smith
With that said, I am interested to see if the OL appears to play better with Dunn at Center and Golson at RT. I am also going to play the "we are only 3 games into the season" card as well.
So certainly, I can apologize for smugness but Im going to hold on the the OL can still prove to be an asset and not a liability. I am a SSPer at my core and that is also possible a fatal flaw this season.
I think Worm Hand being an idiot is our biggest problem on the OL. The tackles are not great by any means but there's enough there to do better than this. Guy was absolutely horrific at PSU as well.
My two scents and I am no corch. He cross trains these guys so much that he seems to plug and place based on the best five players instead of the best 5 players at their position. Who else replaces a center and rotates 3 other guys. I understand why you might try this but the experiment is not a good one or the results this far have not been anything I would write home about.
Yeah.. I agree about Hand. I was watching the replay. Im a nerd about it. I know.. But we ran several times into 7 or 8 man fronts with only 6 blockers. That is a problem. Not to mention literally no vertical passing plays to loosen up the defense. Play calling on run plays seems strange. Im not sure if its Hand, Lindsey or personnel. Something is not right.

Really needs to be addressed IMO.
The whole thing is just FUBAR. I don't think worm dog cusses these youngsters into mean SOBs like is needed with linemen. Obviously doesn't do a great job of teaching things like 'blitz pickup' or 'pass protection'.

What you are seeing now with the lineup that we began the season with are the growing pains that will help our program more in the long run, both the 2nd half of this season and the 2018 season.
We discussed this and I stressed the point that, while the lineup you highlighted may help us be marginally better in the short run against the first half of our schedule, the ceiling with that group is much more limited and will hinder program development and potential for the immediate future.
I do think the lineup we have is the best long term solution and it's vital they get acclimated by being thrust into the fire to learn and grow into what they're capable of.
We will be in very good hands with Tega and Calvin anchoring each side of our lines moving forward, imo.
