OT: Ole Miss players kneeling for anthem

Kneeling or not they worked our asses 2 times this year. But I think the kneeling was in response to some students wearing “Redneck lives matter” or something stupid.

What constitutes significant “blowback”?

I would say a significant drop in donations would apply. As well as a drop in enrollment.

Not saying it WILL happen but most adults have tremendous respect for our flag and anthem. (See NFL)

To your first paragraph, I think you’d have to be racist or just plain stupid to let that affect how much money you gave to a school if giving money to a school was your thing. Same with attending said school.

Your second paragraph is just asinine IMO but not the least bit surprising coming from you.

I have started playing the national anthem on my phone and kneeling at home. I feel like pretty soon I will be an elite athlete.

But do you sleeping during your online knitting classes? If so you may soon be our PG.

Opinions vary. Agreeing to disagree ain't a bad thing.

I’m generally not a fan of being serious on the internet, but I think that empathy is something we need more of in this country. You can disagree with the reasoning behind kneeling and still have empathy for people who clearly have different experiences in this world.

The person who started what IMO is completely disrespectful of our military is a multi-millionaire who got involved with a radical nutcase and let her misguide him. It is based on lies. Victimization is BS. Everybody has 24 hours in every day of their lives. Some use their time to better themselves and to serve others. Some piss their time away and will always have an excuse. This is just another way to divide Americans.

Well it sounds like you’re not capable of the empathy I spoke of, but this is the Greg so I won’t go down this path.

Stupid to kneel during the anthem in college. It’s not like they are getting paid at Kansas or puke. I hope they get kicked off the team. I’m alll for your first amendment rights, but those idiots had no business kneeling during the anthem in a college game

I will though I saw on ESPN that they got school approval prior to doing it (due to the reasoning).

I could be assuming too much but if it was anyone other than (mostly) black athletes leading this movement then ITV be perceived totally differently. I think there’s a stereotype associated with athletes that assumes they’re dumb and “lucky” to have athletic genes and therefore don’t have to work hard. But for the most part, it’s very much the opposite. Most all athletes that “make it” have worked their fuggin asses off to get where they are. So what? They worked very hard to get on that court. If they want to use that platform then so be it. I guarantee most of those guys have put more blood sweat and tears into improving themselves than 99% of the jokers criticizing them
