I'm kind of baffled at his lack of self awareness.

as a completely unbiased observer, that’s not really a path anyone in the serious world of college football message boards wants to travel... there are no good outcomes - for any of us...

but, I do hope you 2 continue whatever it is you’re doing... it’s kind of adorable... and every board needs feuds, provided they’re not based on rice level stupidity, which you 2 obviously are above - so I’m enjoying it

Ha. I think every single person has toned down their schtick on here except for him which is what I find funny. He still speaks in absolutes and then calls people retards when you disagree with him. The other day when he said that he’s right more times than he’s wrong is almost verbatim to something Rice said. Probably needs to cool it down a bit and realize this is a much less aggressive board than the bunker

I'm sorry, who is it that I've called a retard for disagreeing with me? Also, no schtick here, I am who I am.

Also, GFY.

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
Why is that? He's a helluva ball coach and has worked with some of the best in the business, seeing how they run their programs. UTk is desperate, embarrassed, and looking for a conservative hire if I had to guess.

Why? He's no spring chicken. He probably has one more shot at being a HC. Now is the time if he truly wants too.

Now I agree with both of these assessments.

Maybe I just interpreted "can't blame him for wanting to get out" incorrectly.

part of me has a morbid curiosity of how Gus would replace Steele and wants to see it... rumor and inyourwindow that Gus’ defensive staffs have been essentially out of his hands, so curious to see who he’d hire when left to his own devices...

I also am becoming more intrigued by the possibility of hiring Freeze should Chip take the USA job - or any other one that comes available...

corching carousel could still have a few surprises in store for the Boogs

TRob for DC if Kevin leaves. He kind of interviewed the first time and his biggest fear was the job stability. Now that Gus has his shiny new contract, wouldn’t surprise me if TRob comes home. Just a guess obviously

T-Rob would be a homerun to me... I guess it depends on his perception - and others - of how attached he is to Muschamp... is it better for him long term to continue with Boom another year or two with that safety net, or does he need to spread his wings to prove he can succeed away from him?

The biggest thing I see with Hugh coming in is it is 99.99 percent guaranteed that Gus will trust him to call the offense without meddling in it somehow. Of course, it is Gus so I guess he could not trust Hugh, too, but the way I look at it, I think he would trust him more than he has Chip or Rhett.

Can’t beli they’re seriously targeting Kevin to be their HC
At this point I'm sort of hoping he gets it so we can get T-Rob back and step up our DB recruiting game. At the same time, Steele did much better than T-Rob against Top 25 opponents this season, though he also had better talent.

not sure the DB recruiting has been that bad, just not stellar. Monday is a stud, Tutt, Fuqua, and Sherwood all have good size and athletic ability. The only hole right now is a "lockdown" type guy to fill Carlton's spot. It would be nice to get McGriff back on staff, but until you get a guy like him or T-Rob that can identify talented non-4 & 5 start kids, you're stuck with praying one of these stud CB kids really want to came to AU. That's tough when there are so many NFL DB factories in our region.

I thought his bigger hold up was that we weren't going to give him full control. I think we were talking about bringing in someone to hold his hand. Basically same thing happened with USCe job, but it was under Muschamp so he knew what level of autonomy he would have.

I think Pruitt will do well there. Will be curious who he hires for his OC. He and Chip are old friends

I can't decide if it'd be a smart move for Chip to go. On one hand, he'll have full autonomy and get out of the Gus shadow, but on the other hand, he'll still make bank at Auburn and most likely has an NFL QB returning and he could leap frog that success to his own HC gig. UT's QBs are ass.

If he stays at Auburn he may be a HC next year. Auburn has a greater % of being successful offensively next year and overall as a team than UTK does. Lindsey will be more attractive to other schools if he stays.

dude can croot, but never really shown he can coach. don't really see him affecting our recruiting.

Bruh, he coached 3 first round QBs at FSU.

Think he was referring to the overall team, not QBs. I know their starting QB went down this year, but that is no excuse for having to have a losing record as FSU's head coach this year (with their level of talent).

Damn. Saban's whole staff is getting poached. That's nuts, but it was obvious that Daboll wasn't gonna be at Bama long
