iCloud backs up the oldest first, iirc. So, once you’ve maxed your free iCloud data, you’re not backing up anything (photos, music, contacts, etc.). At this point, you’re just at the mercy of the iPhone gods that you don’t drop your phone in water, break it, or anything stupid like that. I resisted for the longest time until I realized just how many pictures and tunes I have on my phone that I wouldn’t ever want to lose. You can also access all of that via the iCloud website with your Apple ID and download to a hard drive if you want. I don’t know why you’re asking us though, you’re the IT guru. What am I doing wrong? Can not imagine needing any more space than I have. Considering I can still free up a ton of space removing apps, I am really perplexed at how people need so much space. My photos just back up to my macbook. My passwords are stored in last pass. What am I at risk of losing by not backing up?
lol, Apple. Meanwhile, I have 320GB of storage in my phone (with the ability to swap out microSD cards) and 250GB of free Google Drive storage.
