OT: Your 5 favorite and least favorite boogs of the last 20 years...

I don't know this story. What did his dad have to do with it?

I think his dad and Phillip Lolley were butt buddies. Holland's diddy is the reason Auburn started recruiting Chris Davis. Anywhoo, Jake Holland is the worst LBer I've ever seen at Auburn and arguably one of the worst players. That Curley headed fvck had no business playing at an SEC school.

Parents were super sensative too. Was in the parents section for the Washington State game in 13. Jake had a whiff and all I said was Ohhh Jake and I had to hear about an hour passive aggressive rant from a couple rows back about people shouldn’t be allowed to call out players in the stands, and numerous other butt hurt comments. Wasn’t even being mean. The game was kind of a track meet at the time and was just implying that a stop would have been helpful at that juncture.

it was more than that his dad had a lot of influence. Don't want to say more than that lol but yeah, he was a weak, small, slow guy with bad instincts and no aggression. There were walkons better than him I know for a fact because I was friends with them lol

There was some bad luck but also just some terrible miss evaluations and awful LB recruiting during that time. None of these guys that were signed in the 4 years Jake was on campus would get a sniff at PT now

I thought Jessel Curry was going to be a stud

Ladarius Owens is another one that I blame on coaching, but I don't really know it could have been attitude or something. Cassanova probably should have been a little better than he was too. The rest of that list just wasn't SEC quality in any way.

I feel like Sigler could’ve contributed at an SEC school, or maybe I just thought the whole Jax St team looked good because of 2015

Just look at that list though and it's kind of easy to see why Holland started

Curry - kicked off the team
Owens - couldn't play LB and moved to DE
Jawara White - was good but got a career ending injury
Frost - soft and wayyyyyyyyyy overrated
Landrum - couldn't play LB, transferred and became a DE
Justin Garrett - couldn't stay healthy. Not a MLB either
Sigler - was always recruited as a DT
Javier Mitchell - No idea what his deal was but never played a significant down
McKinzy - really the only player that had a legit argument to start over Jake but it's not like he was world beater or anything
Toney and Flowers - ouch. Just terrible.

Chris Landrum is in the NFL. But he's a pass rusher. Gene tried to make him a MLB and then a FB so the kid transferred

I do remember Mitchell having ng back to back tackles on 3rd and 4th and goal against Arky in 2013 early in the game when it was still close.

But that's really all I remember about Mitchell

Geeez what a list

McKinzy was more of a pass rusher too right? I seem to remember him being pretty bad away from the LOS.

Looking at that list almost all of the MLB candidates got processed.

FAVORITES (Players)

1) Nick Fairley - Dude stomped a hole in Aaron Murray and rustled UGA like I have never ever seen them rustled before (i grew up in ga) and bulldog fans are still butthurt.. it sexually arouses me

2) sCam Newton - Dude was an arrogant boog vigilante. He made fan bases hate him then he proceeded to eat their soul all while letting you know he was the best.

3) Down-Town Bryce Brown - Need I really say more. My favorite player on probably my favorite hoops team of all time (again, grew up int ATL, not many good bball teams) His ability to get us back into games with the 3-ball is unreal

4) Tre Mason -
Dude was an animal and put the 2013 team on him back. An absolute freak of an athlete. True Heisman candidate and one of the best Auburn RBs of all time

5) Narshall - Narshall was an explosive example of what a true DTQB can do in the Malzahn offense. The drive in the 2013 Iron Bowl to tie the ball game 28-28 was the greatest drive of my Auburn football fandom. Words cannot describe the amount of excitement that the razzle-dazzle pass to Sammie Coates for the TD gave me. Of course we know how that one ended.

It's too damn bad Trey lost his mind. I truly feel sorry for that guy. Willing to bet CTE had more than a little to do with that.
