Would be really impressive if they pulled this off. I’m guessing Chip Kelly already told them to piss off

Just like Tom Herman seemed destined for Texas, Chip Kelly to UF seems inevitable too.

Maybe this is the year Jimbo finally leaves. Always seems to be a lot of friction between him and the FSU administration. A change of scenery would probably do him good
I still think Mullen to Tennessee will happen, but thinking that UF is Kelly or Stoops. Jimbo probably wishing he had gone to LSU now

We will see if the AD at UF is hot air or not. He replied on twitter to a UF who had said Kelly to UF, that is was the biggest lie he had ever seen. I still think he ends up out west, but FL and A&M could have a shot.

I have a hard time believing Fisher would leave FSU for a much tougher gig, especially after passing on LSU twice.

Until proven otherwise, I think UT PTB screws up there search and they end up taking somebody far down their list. My prediction is Norvell.

Stoops to UF would be mind-boggling knowing what he walked away from.

Im not convinced Mullen would leave MSU for UTjr. Much lower expectations at MSU, and I personally don't think UT is a top tier job anymore and is a tough place win (but it can be done). And MSU is paying Mullen very well.

Link to the AD tweet?

Mullen has been desperately trying to leave MSU for awhile. He was trying to get that gig when they hired Butch

I don't remember his name ever coming up for UTjr (I could be completely wrong). I don't agree that he has been desperately trying to believe. If he really wanted leave, I think he would be at Maryland or Oregon right now (IMO). I think he will only leave for a job where he feels confident he can win and meet expectations. No reason to leave a school where you can win 6-8 games a year, with a year every few years with more and be though of as a legend and make really good money doing so.

Again, this is all just my opinion.

UF has no excuse not to nail this. UT gonna get another crumb bum loser probably.
Yeah. If they whiff on Kelly then they’re a bunch of idiots. They have a sure thing sitting there that wants the gig. It’d be like if Ohio st told Urban Meyer to piss off

The SEC East desperately needs to upgrade their coaching game. UT being garbage the last decade hasn't helped with UA's domination.

if they don't it's going to lead to Kirby dominating that division for 8+ years. He's done well, but he hasn't built a bama level machine yet. I'm not sure he will if UF and UT can get their act together. But if they keep sucking at everything related to football it's gonna make it easy on him.

I could certainly be giving him too much credit, but I think Kirby is going to be the guy who unlocks UGA's full potential. Just like Spurrier was the first to unlock UF's potential as an offensive school, Kirby is going to show why the Saban model is perfect for UGA. He will build a defense that will keep them in almost every game, and he will have enough talent on the offensive side of the ball to "overwhelm you" as you put it the other day in a thread about bama.

I think UF is the only job in the south Chip is seriously considering. And if I were UF, I would give him everything he wants to ensure I landed him. He's rumored to have a specific set of demands, which includes a high level of program control, facilities and a Saban'esque NFL front office of recruiting and analyst infrastructure.

I genuinely believe he IS the guy to rebuild UF into a powerhouse, but as of now he's holding all the cards, as he would be seemingly be happier to work and live on the west coast, possibly SoCal (UCLA). Internally, that could be a smoke screen to facilitate UF leveraging the farm to land him, but that's the vibe he's putting out according to the myriad articles I've read.

The East needs to land a coach of his caliber. Hell, the SEC needs it.

I think he's going to be very good there. I think they upgraded even though Richt is doing well at da U. But he's not building the same thing bama built IMO. That's the only dynasty of that nature we're going to see in modern football. 4 national titles in 8 years and 4 straight playoff appearances if they make it this year? That's not gonna be done at UGA. That's not getting done anywhere. That makes Pete Carroll's USC days look mediocre by comparison.

Copying their model is the right move. He's going to have very good defenses and they'll have enough offensive talent to overwhelm the average SEC team. But his margin for error or missing on players will be less than what Saban has. Saban's so stacked that his teams can play good SEC teams, play their C game till he last 10 minutes and then grind out wins. I don't see that in anyone else's future.

If that fields kid is half as good as everyone says he is they should have a great shot to win a chip over the next few years.

I believe he will be, or should say can be, and when coupled with "Zues" Zamir White... Damn, son.

UF and UT need to step up their game. Fast.

Couple of schools look like they want to fight over Jimbo.

I wonder who FSU would get if Jimbo bolted

I can't decide where I want Chip to end up.

Part of me is fine with UF. Build a monster there, damage Georgia some and give another legit team from the East that bama has to play when they go to ATL 3 out of 4 years.

Part of me wants UF to stay weak b/c we can recruit better in that state if they suck. But this may mean Chip to A&M and I don't want him in our division.

Outside of two classes with T-ROB and WILL MUSCHAMP, it's not like we're cleaning up in Florida right now.

on Gruden to UT - Mike Lombardi has been saying on his podcast for weeks that Gruden is going back to the Bucs after the season... apparently whatever beef between Gruden and the Glazer’s (the family that owns the Bucs) has been squashed and NFL people expect Gruden to go back to Tampa Bay

I’d be fine with him at UT, but will believe it when he’s announced and not a second before

Yeah. I don’t think he goes to UT. I think he’s been waiting for an nfl team with a good, young QB to have a job opening. I always thought he’d end up with the Colts

I had been guessing Bucs or Titans. Both have young QB's that seem promising. He's not going to take a NFL gig where he won't know who the starting QB will be. I still think he's going to use UT for as long as possible so that NFL teams that might have interest will reach out (even if they can't officially do so since they will not have fired their HC's yet)
