Spoiler alert. That first “A” win last year was against MSU. Second was against Bama. Boogs next “A” game is against, you guessed it, Bama and neck beard Reese at the hangar.

The good thing is that they were consistent at a specific time for each team, the bad part is that the first half was the Wild West and the 2nd half they had us in the double bonus with 12 mins left. Fortunately it calmed down from that point forward.

they missed some stuff for sure, but they let A LOT of shit go - on both sides
we’re very physical on the perimeter defensively... we’re going to get called for a lot of stuff because we foul constantly, and I’m ok with that... I don’t remember any egregious whistles on us, but I’m probably forgetting one
they didn’t call a lot of stuff - which were good calls because they were clean strips - that lesser crews would have called

Yeah I have no problem with them letting a lot of stuff go, I just hate when they transition from that to “we have to get control of this game” officiating. I only thought it was bad at the start of the 2nd half, though I will admit I have rewatched games I thought we got screwed in only to see that I was wrong. I do try to minimalize my complains in the game thread.

Yeah I kinda hate myself when I start bitching but I see Bruce getting all hot over there can’t help it sometimes. Now that we got that dub I can say it was fine except for like a 5 min stretch in the first 10 mins of the 2nd. I was almost sensing the Grant Williams treatment for Perry except he’s a legit baller.
I got a little perturbed when the foul discrepancy was 12-4 or 12-5 in the second half. Also annoyed that MSU stopped updating the foul count after reaching 10 on their Jumbotron, and I convinced myself that it was because they didn’t want to let the refs know how bad the discrepancy was. Was fine once I told myself that was probably ridiculous
For the most part it felt like they were rewarding the more aggressive players and in 9/10 games that is gonna help us. MSU and LSU might be the only SEC squads who can typically match us there this season. Teams like Arky/bama may get hit from 3 and beat you but they aren’t likely to fight on the glass, force a bunch of fouls and block a lot of shots like we saw the pups do yesterday.
MSU should be a top 5 SEC team and make the tourney but something just goes wrong for them in stretches that is costing them precious W’s. They got 3 guys that should get some NBA/G League looks and I like their parts. If they can eliminate the TOs and whatever these weird 3-4 minute stretches are they’ll be a NCAA team.
Yeah they look the part. Kinda remind me of that TAMU squad a couple years ago. They’ve gotta be the most physically imposing squad in the country. Athletic enough too just not HYG athletic.
I was brimming with confidence even before this one but there’s nobody in the country on the HYGs level right now.
I finally got to watch the game on DVR last night and it was incredible. We played like dried dog turds in the first half and still nearly blow them out of their own gym by the end of the game. This squad isn't backing down to anyone.
BRUCE has developed an outstanding culture. HYGs expect to win
Watching J’von yesterday got me thinking about one thing that doesn’t get talked about enough imo. J’von was such a late add and had pretty much no major offers. He comes in and is playing at an all-sec level 1.5 years into his stay here. Just unreal player evaluation and development
Oh yeah, forgot to add, that pass from Okoro to J'Von on the cut was a thing of beauty. I rewound it probably 6 times.
