I'll rephrase, sucks to see them beat State a few days after we couldn't.
It’s hard to tell in this league. They have to be kicking themselves for the A&M and UT losses after the fact. Could be sitting nicely. Just a league where you can lose any night you don’t bring your A game.
I was agreeing with you. We played them on the road, they beat them but at home.
Bama playing too close to our level. Whether that’s more about us playing like ass or them playing decent my LBS is flaring up regardless heading into Saturday’s contest. They’d be sitting really nice if they didn’t meltdown at the end of a few games. That’s part of who they are though.
I’m still refusing to take them seriously. Sure walking back any previous comments just isn’t my style but they should have suffered 2 embarrassing losses last week and got bailed out.
They got vets that execute to perfection on both end and don’t make stupid mistakes I give them that. I’ll tip my cap if they come into the Clam and give us a run at full strength. At least beat a top tier SEC club their conference slate has been cake so far. Playing a lot better than us right now but that’s not saying much.
They’ve had an even better start to the year than we had last year. Hopefully they have peaked too soon and will not be as tough in a month. Hard to find flaws right now though.
Yeah they probably deserve to be #1 right now based on the results. Kenpom has them 6 which I think is closer to how good they actually are. Had a signature win over Gonzaga but haven’t really played anyone thats even a tourney team since. Maybe Bama/ UF are bubble.
Looked at ours from last year forgot we were 21-2. Beat UT, Mizzou Miss St on the road. Gatdamn we were on fire would have been 22-1 if not for that trash bum Petty going off on us.
They don’t have a ton of huge wins but other than Bama and at Vandy, they’ve been pretty dominant in the league.
We didn’t lose our third game until mid Feb last year. Still amazing to think about.
never wish injury on guys - but if UT makes it through 6 months playing at their absolute best, while running 4-5 guys into the ground, with no significant injuries, then it’s time for me to quit college sports entirely and take up building ships in bottles or breeding afghan hounds

Yep. Bama is a weird team. I've never seen a team close games as terrible as they have so far this year.
They also have I think 3 Q1 wins but also 3 Q3 losses.
A 16 pt loss to Northeastern should count as 3-Q3 losses on its own!
Horrible as that was, it happened against Ga State. They may be a tourney team and Ron Hunter may be my second favorite coach in college hoops so it’s just a tough home loss!

Yeah. I was thinking Ga State, but accidentally put Southern. Is Hunter still undefeated when coaching barefoot (he was barefoot that game)?
I knew he did that at least once a year but had no idea what his record was on those days.
They do a little version of what we do. When they are on they aren't as explosive as we are, but they can look really solid and run some good stuff during those stretches. Then they'll look like a Tony Barbee trash squad for 5 minutes and you wonder what the hell is happening.
If we had size I wouldn't worry about them. If Austin doesn't play they'll just pound it into the paint every damn possession.
Their inside game doesn’t scare me that much. Hall is a good player and works his butt off, but he’s a trash guy more than a set guy. Their length on the perimeter compared to our guys is where we are mismatched. Regardless, just just like with Kentucky and USCe, it’s going to be about what we do more than what they do. If we have another game where we shoot well, have 2-1 assist to turnover ratio and force them into 15+ turnovers by actually playing defense, we’ll beat them soundly.
agree their perimeter length is a big issue. They've been making a point of getting into the paint lately vs just about everyone and I'm concerned that they're going to do that against us even with Austin. Without him it's a real danger for us (since Mac seemingly can't avoid bad fouls).
Again we're in a "can't lose home games anymore" situation. Just can't have these hits to the resume after failing in games we needed.

My oldest young Boog is taking a sojourn of a sort & flying out of the HAM in the morning for to see #3 UVA versus #8 UNC in the fabled Dean Dome tomorrow. His new sweet gal friend is a Tabacco Road inhabitant by nature & is helping seal the deal for the ground work for #allbasketballallthetime. Bless her heart.
Ridic that kentucky can't put these LSU scrubs away inside Rupp. AU should've wiped those fools in Baton Rouge. Still gives me confidence that our Boogs are in the top class of CBB when on their game

We’re so much better than both those clubs it makes me ill. If the lord would heal young Austin and bless Danjel with the intellect to play to his potential it would be all over for the rest of this trash league.
We are better than our record. We deserve a year where we are one of those teams that had an up and down year but make a deep run in the tournament
