******Official Boog BBall 'Crootin Thread*******

Dang updates on these children are hard to come by.

Love everything about keeping Bowman on staff. Shows Bruce is in charge and he’s supposedly tight with Cooper and Brown’s dad.
Yeah I was hoping for some delicious news but the Ira Bowman reinstatement will just have to do I guess. Locks up Sweet Sharife if he wasn’t a lock already

Gents allow me to be a dork and breakdown our crootin targets for the 2020 class:

PG: Cooper
- class starts and ends with this stud. Destined to be a boog and will be. Word around the Internet is he’s not a reclass possibility which is a bit unfortunate because he’d probably be our best player right now.

SG: Springer, Burnett, Stone, Murrell
- All choice HYGs anyone from this group would do.

SF: Boston, K Johnson, Powell, Harvell
- Boston is by far the top target here. K Johnson a fellow 5 star and boog legacy but for some reason Steven must have cooled on him. Powell a sharp shootin chalkie, plays the game the right way, etc.

PF: Brown, Brakefield, Moore, Gordon
- Brown is the one and done elite top 5 draft pick prototype 4. Brakefield not too far off that. Moore kind of a Grant Williams but much better looking. Gordon more of an athletic 5 in the Bruce system.

C: Kessler, J Williams, Omoruyi, Dowuona, Cardwell

Kessler by far the top ranked in this group. The rest more traditional 5s with varying degrees of skill and athleticism. All top 100ish studs though. Cardwell is on the AOT Jr boog squad and Rodney Garner’s nephew.

Dream Class: Cooper, Springer, Boston, Brown, Kessler, Omoruyi

Projected class: Cooper, Stone, Boston, Brakefield, Gordon, Cardwell

This has been ‘EA’ future HYGs edition.

Oh sweet Jesus. Was hoping another undersized point guard was going to pull the commitment trigger but this is more than fine. Legggggoooooo

Not sure about his game but the size obviously reminds me of Jared Harper. I will take another one of him. He measured at under 5' 10" at the NBA combine

Height don't bother me at PG. If you can ball you can ball. The problem is when you get a short guy who is average at everything, cause then his lack of size hurts you defensively and being mediocre means it limits his already low ceiling offensively.

But if you are quick, explosive and can shoot....I'm all in favor of PG's under 6' who have a damn chip on their shoulder. I've always loved those guys. That's the one spot on a the floor that I don't care that much about length cause I've seen too many guys be effective there while being undersized.

The young man’s handles are pretty insane and he’s only a rising junior. Everything I read and watch about this young man just makes me more and more happy

here's a new name...not sure he'll put much H in HYG

Eduardo Andre: Move from London paying off for 2020

While the Pangos All-American Camp is always filled with known top national prospects, it is also an event that allows for breakout performances from lesser known talents.

That was the case for Eduardo Andre, a 6-foot-9, 215-pound 2020 post from Dallas Wilson.

Andre moved from Angola to London when he was four and started playing basketball within the last three years.

Shortly after taking up the sport, Andre moved to the States with hopes of putting himself in the best position athletically and academically.

Andre is showing that move is paying off, as scholarship offers are quickly coming in for the soon-to-be four-star prospect.

The rising senior has good size for a post, very long arms, a frame that will hold plenty of weight in time, ability to score with his back to the basket or facing up, plus rebounding and upside as a rim protector.

“I think I bring energy, run the floor, block shots, I have good moves in the post and I can bring the ball up when I need to,” Andre said. “I’m trying to be more consistent with my jump shot.”

Offers for Andre have come in from Auburn, Houston, Mississippi State and UTSA.

“I haven’t spoken with [Mississippi State] a lot but I know it’s a good program in the SEC,” said Andre. “[Auburn] was in March Madness. It’s a good program with a good coaching staff.”

Andre said he plans on taking official visits in the fall before making a decision.
