I gotta say guys, I’m getting a little anxious and just want some Boog hoops excitement. Would really help me if Bruce could get a commitment from one of these studs soon just to kickstart this class

I respect his champagne taste, but I wouldn’t mind him just adding an extra grad tranny body to the front court depth since we have the room. Two years in a row, we’ve had guys go down with injuries but I’m kind of guessing he thinks Okoro can play the 4 if he has to

That Trendon Watford kid committed to LSU. Makes sense after they transformed Naz Reid from a sure lotto pick into the fattest child invited to the combine who’ll be lucky to get drafted.

Don't ever fall for common logic in recruiting. There is no way on this earth that random observers anywhere outside of LSU fandom would have believed LSU could land a blue chip recruit from out of state while their coach had just been caught on tape buying another player. Nope. No way he walks into that situation. Not gonna happen.

But he did. And thats why applying normal human logic to recruiting always will get you burned. Don't even try to figure it out.

He’s just doubling down while he can. He knows he’s ****ed so who cares? Get as much talent on campus as possible.

I don't actually think he's going to get more than a slap on the wrist. spuat and USCw made life miserable for the NCAA, essentially taking everything to court and challenging any punishment even when there was solid evidence supporting the fact they cheated. The years spent fighting those issues on the legal front weakened the NCAA to the point they fear anyone with a booster base big enough to make them feel pain.

LSU will just fight it every step of the way. Get a postseason ban...they'll appeal it if they have a good team and hope they can stall any penalties until after making a run, which is the correct move these days. The saying "if you ain't cheatin you ain't trying" was funny and kinda true before, but now it's actually a mantra every big school should live by. The NCAA is completely toothless IMO.

TOOS just posted this:

AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn football’s annual Big Cat Weekend starts next week.

It’s the biggest recruiting weekend of the year for the football program, and usually leads to several commitments over the summer months. It’s a weekend filled with fun activities and players changing their minds about the Tigers.

Maybe the Auburn basketball program needs to think about calling its first weekend in June its Big Baller Weekend. That seems to be the approach coach Bruce Pearl is taking this year, Auburn Undercover has learned.

At least seven recruits, including three 5-star prospects and three more players rated as the top player in their respective states, will visit with and coaches during a weekend of visits June 1 in Auburn, Auburn Undercover has learned. More players are expected to be added to the list in the coming days.

The stellar group is led by 5-star point guard Sharife Cooper, 5-star shooting guard Brandon Boston Jr. and 5-star center Walker Kessler. Cooper and Boston have emerged as Auburn’s top two targets over the last calendar year, with the two players out of Georgia garnering offers from the bluest of blue-blood programs, with the primary threat to Auburn being SEC rival Kentucky.

Auburn, fresh off its first Final Four appearance, is on a roll on the recruiting trail garnering interest from blue-chip prospects across the country, and not just in the Alabama and Georgia region, where the Tigers continue to focus most of their energy on the recruiting trail.

Kessler is an interesting prospect because of his strong ties to Georgia, where head coach Tom Crean is earning commitments from blue-chip prospects of late. Kessler’s father, brother and uncle played basketball at Georgia, and his mother attended Georgia in college. The prospect is an unabashed fan of Georgia sports, but has become a huge target for Pearl to try to convince to come to Auburn, where a low-post presence may be missing in 2020 and beyond.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 player in the state of Kentucky, Alabama and Mississippi are set to visit as well.

Two players in the class of 2021 are scheduled to visit, including 4-star point guard Daeshun Ruffin, who is the No. 1 player in Mississippi. He resides at Callaway High in Jackson. Forward Terran Williams out of Lee High in Marianna, Arkansas is not yet rated by major recruiting services for the class of 2021, but he will also visit, Auburn Undercover has learned.

3-star shooting guard Justin Powell is the state of Kentucky’s No. 1 player in the class of 2020. 3-star power forward Ronnie Gordon out of Lanier High in Montgomery is the No. 1 player in Alabama, and is actually rated a 4-star prospect by 247Sports analysts.

From a poster on TOOS re: EYBL Indianapolis:

Sorry but I’ve been crazy busy last couple weeks. Won’t give the same detail as before but anything is better than nothing I suppose.

Cooper - top 10 in scoring at 27 ppg. Impressive as always.

Boston - top 20 in scoring which was a step up. Top 20 in rebounding as well. Nice tourney for him.

Ruffin - top 20 in scoring. Not quite the top 10 he showed in Atlanta but a for sure top 5 showing again for 2021 guys.

Greg Brown - still up and down performances. Been horrible from 3 and just not a 1 and done guy some have suggested.

Brakefield - another solid tourney but a little more up and down and less consistent than Atlanta but average remained essentially the same. Rebounding still good. Shooting 35% from 3 for the first two tournies.

Jaylin Williams - another top 10 rebounding finish. Pushing for top rebounder in the country.

Moore - like Brown he was up and down but his rebounding dipped.

Cam Thomas - wonder if we can legitimately sign both he and Boston but I sure hope so. He’s a better scorer than Boston and finished 3rd at 28 ppg. Just an incredible scorer.

Biggest disappointment to me is Jerdarrian Davidson 2021 from Letohatchee. Gotten all kind of hype and he is averaging 3.5 ppg in 11 games. Mark Sears from Muscle Shoals looks like the best in-state player.

Only days away from Big Bruce (and Steven) weekend gents. Bet the potential HYGs don’t do any lame stuff like 3 legged races and pie eating contests.

Maybe Bruce lets that Rongie Gordon child commit. Of course Sharife pledging formal allegiance to the boogs would be the dream scenario.
